Donald Trump Not Concerned About Making Wild Russia Comments – or Committing Political Suicide: Donald Trump has committed some questionable actions during his time in politics, but the latest foible has many wondering if his loyalties lie with Russia instead of the United States.

He appears to be publicly siding with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a sign that Trump could care less about the war in Ukraine and more about seeking revenge with federal law enforcement officers and members of the intelligence community.

Let’s take a look at how this may be political suicide for the former president:

Donald Trump Spreads Poison Again on Truth Social

Trump’s latest questionable statement came on his Truth Social app where he shares a list of people that he has believes are villains and who are connected to the CIA, DOJ and the FBI.

What Did He Say Now? Here it is:

“Remember in Helsinki when a 3rd rate reporter asked me, essentially, who I trusted more, President Putin of Russia, or our “Intelligence” lowlifes. My instinct at the time was that we had really bad people in the form of James Comey, McCabe (whose wife was being helped out by Crooked Hillary while Crooked was under investigation!), Brennan, Peter Strzok (whose wife is at the SEC) & his lover, Lisa Page. Now add McGonigal & other slime to the list. Who would you choose, Putin or these Misfits?”

No Respect for Federal Law Enforcement or the Intelligence Community

This statement is difficult to analyze as he invokes several names of those who he thinks are running a cabal of wrongful persecution against him.

He seems to tell his audience that these people are so contemptible that Putin would be a better choice to support.

The attack on the intelligence community is a constant theme of Trump’s since 2016. We know he hates the FBI which he believes is biased and whose agents searched his home to seize classified documents.

Conspiracy Against Multiple People

The cast of characters in extensive in Trump’s post. James Comey was FBI director during the Trump era who wrote a book that was highly critical of the president. Trump has called Comey an “untruthful slimeball.” Former Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe is a Trump enemy. McCabe investigated Trump after the president fired Comey in 2017. His wife Jill McCabe ran for state senate in Virginia as a Democrat and Trump thinks Hillary Clinton helped her.

More on the List

“Brennan” likely refers to John Brennan, former director of the CIA, who has been a thorn in Trump’s side for years. Trump believes former FBI officials Lisa Page and Peter Strzok tried to tie him to the Russia investigation. Trump has attempted to sue them. Strzok’s wife, Melissa Hodgman, is a director at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Former FBI official Charles McGonigal who was also involved in the Russia probe, has now been indicted for helping Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

They Are Just a Bunch of ‘Lowlifes’

Understand all that so far? This is how Trump’s mind works. He has so many enemies that it is difficult to decipher them without a scorecard. Trump believes Putin is more trustworthy than this group of what he deems as “lowlifes.” Is he being serious or just sarcastic and blowing smoke?

Donald Trump Has Fixation on Russia

Steve Benen of MSNBC wrote that it is clear Trump is a fan of Putin. Benen’s evidence goes back to the Trump summit with Putin in Helsinki in 2018. “The Republican held a disastrous press conference in which Trump defended an American adversary, took cheap shots at his own country, and sided with Putin over the judgment of American intelligence professionals.”

Is Trump Putin’s BFF?

Trump looks like he is bizarrely siding with Putin again. He can’t possibly gain politically from this other than to show his supports that the Deep State is unfairly persecuting him, which MAGA adherents believe anyway. Choosing what appears to be allegiance to Putin over his own country shows that once again Trump is unhinged and not worried about appearances that would normally be political suicide for other politicians.

More: Nikki Haley for President? Nope.

This is another example of what Trump detractors consider his alliance with Russia. They believe the former president is a “Russian asset.” Trump is not afraid to fuel that fire even though Russia is fighting a vicious and unjust war against Ukraine.

If Trump goes back to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, expect more of these ridiculous statements. Let’s hope that Trump is just being sarcastic and not literally supporting Russia.
