More Information to Be Released About Donald Trump Legal Snares In Georgia: The public will know soon about the overall themes of a special grand jury final report after an eight-month investigation into former President Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overthrow the results of the Georgia presidential election in 2020.

While this special grand jury cannot criminally indict Donald Trump, readers may be able to glean insights from what the judge will release publicly on February 16.

What Will the Public See?

Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney will make the introduction, conclusion, and one other part of the special grand jury recommendations public.

The third portion of the report that will be released has to do with jurors not believing that certain witnesses were completely honest during the investigation.

The Judge Ruled in a Compromise

Judge McBurney made a compromise between the media, who wanted the full report released and the prosecutor who wanted to keep the document private.

There may not be many pages of the recommendations made public as the judge and prosecutor have due process concerns about the case.

Details about what the special grand jury report will say, including recommendations about who should or shouldn’t be criminally charged, will be kept from the media.

Willis Wanted to Keep Report From the Public

“We want to make sure that everyone is treated fairly, and we think for future defendants to be treated fairly, it is not appropriate at this time to have this report released,” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said during the hearing, as reported by the Associated Press.

Criminal Indictments Could Come Later

Willis could decide, based on the details of the special grand jury findings, whether to convene a traditional grand jury that could potentially indict Donald Trump and other members of his circle for illegal actions after the 2020 election in Georgia.

Willis said on January 24 in a hearing that decisions are “imminent.”

Investigators Conducted Dozens of Interviews

The special grand jury interviewed Trump allies, such as attorney Rudy Giuliani and Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, plus high-ranking officials from Georgia like Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Governor Brian Kemp.

Graham has said he was acting in his official capacity of serving on the Judiciary Committee in the senate and only inquired about absentee votes in Georgia.

Giuliani had asked state legislators to deny the results of the election.

Donald Trump Allegedly Wanted to ‘Find the Votes’

Willis began the investigation in the January of 2021 when a recording of Trump asking Secretary of State Raffensperger to “find the votes” to flip the election results in the former president’s favor.

Donald Trump said he wanted to find 11,780 votes, which would have been enough for Trump to win. The former president has said that phone call was “perfect.”

Trump and State Officials In Jeopardy

The special grand jury findings may be another sign that Donald Trump could be prosecuted in Georgia for these actions.

It is unclear how much evidence the special grand jury has specifically against Trump.

The investigators have casted a wider net against state legislators, electors, and a computer forensics group hired by Trump.

The complete details of the special grand jury findings will be made public when Willis completes her full investigation.

Trump Attorneys Say He Is Innocent

Trump’s legal team did not appear three weeks ago at the hearing about the special grand jury report.

Trump’s attorneys said the former president was not questioned by investigators and was never subpoenaed or asked to be questioned.

Trump did not do anything illegal, his team said.
