We Are Watching the End of Donald Trump

Yes, lately, I have been doing a lot of digging regarding Donald Trump for my book project. And I keep getting sidetracked, but all for a good cause, as Trump keeps giving me too much to write about in real time.

And while I do think he will win the GOP nomination in 2024, what happens after will be interesting to watch for sure.

One thing anyone interested in politics needs to watch and watch closely is all of the legal drama that is following Donald Trump around like a black cloud.

Simply stated: the man is a waking lawsuit.

However, to make matters worse, there are so many possible ways he could get charged and even end up in jail that, at least for me, I think some prosecutor somewhere will take a shot at trying to take him down.

Think of it this way: You could make your career as the man or woman who sent Donald Trump to jail – and if you think you can win that case – you are going to take a chance and go for it. The political payoff is just too tempting.

Donald Trump Is In Serious Trouble

I decided to ask some of the GOP experts I have worked with over the years while researching my book to give me a sense of where they think Donald Trump is in his legal issues.

One response I received was really interesting, and I am eager to share it. From a GOP heavyweight who helped run big parts of the policy agenda for Romney in 2012:

“My gut tells me Donald Trump is in serious trouble and will end up getting charged with something big, and in the next few months – we are watching the end of Donald Trump, in my opinion.

The problem for Trump now is that he has so many different prosecutors looking into him and his possible crimes that it seems like chances are way too high that someone will charge him and has enough evidence to do it. The only question is whether charges come from Georiga, New York, or somewhere else – and how strong their case is. But, I do think he is getting charged.”

So what happens if Donald Trump does get charged with a crime in the middle of a run for the White House? One former Trump adviser who served him in the White House said this to me on background: “Donald Trump looks like he is in serious trouble as he has too many legal fires to put out now.

He will get charged, and when that happens, that will be the excuse many in the GOP need to dump this man finally. My only hope is that it happens in the next few months so Republicans can make the switch they want to Ron DeSantis. We can have Trump policies without Donald Trump.”

Would the GOP really dump Donald Trump if he is charged?

Many MAGA supporters would only get even more jazzed and double down – and see the GOP split. Well, we might just find out.
