Nikki Haley Just Made Her Pitch to CPAC: Nikki Haley used the conservative confab CPAC as a springboard for her quest for the presidency.
And boy did she swing for the fences.
Haley was highly animated by the MAGA crowd on March 3. She served in Donald Trump’s administration as the Ambassador to the UN.
The former Governor of South Carolina, whose parents happen to be from India, wanted her speech to catapult her into one of the top vote-getters for CPAC’s straw poll.
She is now polling in single digits in presidential polls for the GOP nomination, but that could change soon as more conservatives get to know her.
Nikki Haley Wastes No Time Taking the Fight to the Democrats
Haley took command of the stage and began speaking in declarative sentences that fit into handy soundbites.
She started immediately taking on the left.
“In case you didn’t notice the liberal media’s heads are exploding. They can’t stand the fact that a conservative woman and a minority daughter of immigrants is running for president. Liberals are wrong about everything they say about America,” she said.
Haley said CNN’s Don Lemon Is a Villain
Haley saved harsh words for CNN host Don Lemon who made controversial comments about women when they are in their prime.
Lemon insinuated that Haley was out of hers.
“When Don Lemon says that I am not in my prime, hold my beer. Don Lemon said women have to be in their 20s and 30s to be in their prime. Don is wrong.”
If They Are Too Old Give Them a Mental Acuity Test
Nikki Haley supports mental competency tests for officeholders and candidates who are over 75 years of age.
She also believes the Democrats have been a party of taxing and spending that has led to gargantuan deficits and debt.
“Liberals attack me because they don’t like who I am. Because I talk about ending socialism and renew an America that is strong and proud not weak and woke. When I look to the future, I see freedom and opportunity. Biden is giving us oppression not the America that we love. The Democrats are a socialist party. Biden is wasting taxpayer money. We are $31 trillion in debt. $21 trillion more in the next 10 years. Stop the earmarks and the pet projects once and for all.”
Haley Said America Is Not a Racist Country
As a woman minority candidate, Haley is against racism but does not believe America is a racist country.
She believes her campaign can overcome discrimination by grounding the country in American principles and that starts in education.
“I will get the self-loathing out of our schools. We will make America proud and strong.”
She Pivoted to Foreign Policy
Haley made clear her ideas on national security and defense.
“I will make America strong at home, get safe streets, and restore our strength in the world and a strong military that doesn’t start wars but prevents wars. We give billions of dollars to countries who undermine us every day. Some support terrorists. We need to stop buying friends and stop giving money to countries that hate America,”
Addressing the China Threat
The former governor said she would be tough on China.
The spy balloon was a wake-up call to Americans who know that China is a threat.
“Our enemies think they can walk all over us. The Chinese spy balloon is national embarrassment. We need to hold China accountable and start with Covid. China is sending fentanyl across the border. Biden is letting them get away with it. They own American soil – some of it is right next to military bases. Tell universities that you can have Chinese money or American money, but you can’t have both,” she said.
Unite and Win
Haley supports term limits and recruiting candidates who are from a new generation to give strength to the American ideals.
“Americans deserve better. I am confident we can take our country to the best days. Unite our people. Real unity comes from boldly proclaiming our national principles. We have lost the popular vote in 7 out of 8 of the last elections. That ends now if you are tired of losing put your faith in a new generation. I want us to inspire our country together we can have the courage to be part of the solution – the vision will be made in our time.”
