Hunter Biden Means the End for Joe Biden?

The legal dragnet is closing in around Hunter Biden, and no matter how much his father defends him, Hunter may be indicted for various transgressions soon.

Like all parents, Joe Biden loves his son unconditionally and he tries to protect him from an unforgiving world. But the legal dragnet is closing in around Hunter Biden, and no matter how much his father defends him, Hunter may be indicted for various transgressions soon.

If you are a Republican, you are saying “I told you so,” and you probably believe that this is only the tip of the iceberg for Biden family corruption. And if you are a Democrat, you think there are more important issues facing the country than Hunter’s infamous laptop and the relatively minor crimes he is being investigated for.

Either way, the White House is facing the reality of the younger Biden being indicted for alleged tax improprieties, for not paying all he owes to the IRS, and for allegedly lying on a federal firearm purchase form answering questions pertaining to illegal drug use. The Biden administration is bracing for how the country will perceive the event of Hunter being officially accused and arraigned.

Hunter Biden: Are Charges Coming Soon?

The Biden legal team recently met with the Department of Justice prosecutors, who could bring potential charges against Hunter. This could be a sign that indictments are imminent.

Republicans Will Have a Field Day

If this happens, Republicans are likely to yoke Hunter’s potential crimes to the president to show that the Biden name is less than sterling when it comes to ethics. Hunter appeared with his father on a trip to Ireland in April and at a dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron last year, so it will be difficult for the president to claim that he is not close to his son professionally, or that Hunter is not involved with his administration.

Hunter has been investigated for his tax records by federal authorities since at least 2018 and in 2020, he publicly admitted that the feds were looking into his taxes. Hunter has always maintained his innocence.

House GOP Members Smell Blood

His critics have noted that Hunter collected high fees for membership on a Ukrainian energy company board while his father was vice president and had control over Ukrainian foreign policy.

The House Oversight Committee said Hunter and other Biden family members accepted payments through a business associate intermediary that were disbursed from a Chinese energy company for unknown reasons. Republican lawmakers have attempted to connect these business dealings with the president.

At least one whistleblower has come forward saying the federal investigations from the IRS and FBI have already been completed and that the government’s case may have slowed down to a crawl due to White House interference. The chair of the House Oversight Committee also says he will announce on May 10 the panel has found a new whistleblower with more bombshell claims related to the Bidens.

How Will He Pay Legal Expenses?

Hunter Buden is reportedly in enormous debt because of all the legal woes that are surmounting. He has an illegitimate child in Arkansas, and he is trying to lower his child support payments to the daughter’s mother. His main lawyer now wants to create a legal defense fund for Hunter. The White House is reportedly worried about the political backlash that could arise from such a fund.

Hunter’s potential indictments could create a political problem that lasts into 2024 and the proceedings may drag out until the election. The Republicans believe they have more evidence of Biden family business dealings that are inappropriate and potentially unethical or illegal.

Could Most Americans Just Shrug Their Shoulders?

It is difficult to predict how the American people will react to indictments for Hunter if they happen. Most voters know that Hunter is a troubled son. He wrote a tell-all memoir that chronicled his trouble with drugs and other personal problems. Hunter was an issue in the 2020 election that Biden won, so the White House feels it could likely ride out the storm on Hunter, should the legal woes continue to a crescendo, as long as they do not include his father’s involvement.

The election is many months away of course and that gives the White House plenty of time to devise a strategy that could mitigate the fallout should Hunter be indicted. They hope that the American people will consider Hunter a “hot mess,” but they will not hold it against the president. His son’s legal troubles could hurt Biden emotionally and take a toll on his overall confidence during the campaign season. Plus, it will conjure up old news when the president wants to talk about his accomplishments and the future direction of the country. The campaign team hopes that Hunter’s legal situation will only be an inconvenience that most voters will ignore.
