Marjorie Taylor Greene blames Biden for fentanyl deaths before his presidency:

The Georgia Congresswoman, in a committee hearing months back, questioned a witness whose sons died of fentanyl overdoses.

But she blamed President Biden for deaths that took place before he became president.

MTG…

“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime,” Donald Trump famously said in his first campaign announcement speech in 2015, referring to immigrants and migrants coming over the border from Mexico.

And that’s been a key tenet of Republican politics ever since, especially since President Biden succeeded Trump

Marjorie Taylor Greene Once Again…

The House Committee on Homeland Security back on February 28 held a hearing on what the Committee’s Republican leadership characterized as “The Impact of Biden & Mayorkas’ Border Crisis on American Communities.”

The hearing, according to a News Nation report, focused on Mexican drug cartels, and how they are “fueling” the fentanyl overdose crisis.

One of the witnesses was  Rebecca Kiessling, a Michigan woman whose two sons both died of fentanyl overdoses in 2020, at the ages of 18 and 20.

In addition to her testimony, Kiessling is a prominent anti-abortion activist, who has sought to end the rape exemption to abortion laws.

“My children were taken away from me,” Kiessling said in her testimony. “You’re welcoming drug dealers across our border, you’re giving them protection, you’re not protecting our children.”

“This should not be politicized. It’s not about race. Fentanyl doesn’t care about race,” she added.

But when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) questioned Kiessling, she asked “would your sons be alive today if our government secured our Southern border?”

In sharing the video clip of that exchange on Twitter, Greene asked that her followers “listen to this mother, who lost two children to fentanyl poisoning, tell the truth about both of her son’s murders because of the Biden administrations refusal to secure our border and stop the Cartel’s from murdering Americans everyday by Chinese fentanyl.”

Yikes…

As pointed out by CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale and others, the two young men died in 2020, when Trump was president and Biden was not in elected office.

Therefore, their tragic deaths had nothing whatsoever to do with “the Biden administrations [sic] refusal to secure our border.”

When asked for comment by Dale, Greene’s spokesman Nick Dyer responded, “do you think they give a f*** about your bull**** fact checking?”
