The new Top Gun movie, Top Gun: Maverick is a certified money machine. The film just keeps making more and more cash and it seems it will become an even bigger hit when it heads to streaming and DVD/Blu-Ray/Ultra-HD release. But you might want to consider heading to the movies one more time to see it this weekend:

“Top Gun: Maverick” has become a cultural landmark, succeeding far beyond the hopes of fans and anyone involved in the movie. More than two months since its theatrical release, it’s still performing in theaters and just passed “Titanic” to become the biggest domestic box office movie in Paramount history, with $662 million in ticket sales. The international box office total now stands at $1.352 billion.

So, it’s time for a celebration.

From Aug. 12-14, 2022, viewers who attend a “Top Gun: Maverick” screening at participating theaters can also see a behind-the-scenes look at shooting onboard the USS Roosevelt with Tom Cruise and the cast to get some insight as to how the filmmakers worked with the Navy to operate, film and live on an active warship.

There’s also a giveaway. Starting Friday, ticket buyers can get a free limited-edition “Top Gun: Maverick” print while supplies last at each theater. Designed by the noted U.K. artist Doaly, the prints make an excellent gift to the movie’s fans.

There’s more good news. “Top Gun: Maverick” is going back into IMAX and Dolby Cinema theaters this weekend, giving audiences a chance to see the film in the best format possible. Not many movies are worth the extra money for the upgrade, but an IMAX ticket for “Top Gun: Maverick” is well worth the investment for fans who’ve yet to see the movie in the bigger format.

Even though it’s likely the movie will play in theaters well into September, we’re expecting word soon about upcoming home video releases. If you’re waiting for “Top Gun: Maverick” to show up on Paramount+, we’re probably a few months away from seeing a streaming option.
