Another Stimulus Check Is Coming Soon for One State:

Despite two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth, the Biden White House still refuses to admit that the United States economy is in recession – and while the president doesn’t want to issue new rounds of federal stimulus checks, Democratic legislators and governors across the country are doing all they can to issue a new stimulus check and tax rebates ahead of the November mid-terms.

Among those states issuing substantial rebates is California, which is issuing stimulus checks as soon as October worth as much as $1,050. The checks come as part of a $17 billion relief package designed to help residents cope with the rising cost of food, fuel, and consumer products. The package was also accompanied by a suspension of the state sales tax on diesel fuel, all signed off by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom as part of the state’s $308 billion budget.

The latest stimulus check package, known as the Middle Class Tax Refund, follows the Golden State Stimulus program.

Stimulus Check: Are You Eligible?

The stimulus package is designed to benefit middle-class Californians and not just the lowest earners in the state like some previous programs. This time around, California taxpayers who earned less than $500,000 in 2021 are eligible for a refund.

The size of the refund, however, is determined based on the salary of an individual or couple filing jointly, as well as how many dependents are claimed.

To receive the payment, you’ll need to ensure that you were not eligible to be claimed as a dependent in the 2020 tax year, and you must also have been a California resident for more than half of the 2020 tax year. Recipients must also be California residents on the day that the payment is made – meaning those who technically qualify but who have since left California will not be eligible to receive the funds.

Your 2020 tax return must also have been completed and filed by October 15, 2021.

How Will You Receive the Stimulus Check?

If you filed your tax return electronically, or if you previously received your 2020 tax refund by direct deposit, then you’ll receive the stimulus money via direct deposit.

Others will receive the money on a pre-paid debit card, rather than in the form of a paper check.

Stimulus Check: How Much Will You Receive?

The California state government website developed a tool that allows you to determine whether you are eligible to receive the stimulus check, and how much you may be eligible for.

Click here and answer the questions and you’ll see exactly how much the state will pay out to you.
