Joe Biden Speech on Debt Ceiling Deal

President Joe Biden announced that his administration had invested $3 billion in wind energy plants and other green energy sources since coming into office. He criticized Republicans for getting in the way during a stop at a wind turbine manufacturer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“Until this year, this company didn’t think it made sense to make chargers for electric vehicles in the United States. But then, when I signed the Bipartisan Infra — Law — again, which — which Ron Johnson and his friends didn’t vote — they all voted against — that law invests $7.5 billion to build a network of thousands of electric vehicle chargers stretching across the country, including on I-94,” Biden said. “By the way, over 500,000 of these charging stations. That’s real jobs. That’s real money.”

He attacked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott saying he wanted to shut down wind and solar facilities.

“And it’s cheaper than fossil fuel. He wants to shut them down. Isn’t that enlightened?” Biden said.

Texas is the only state with its own power grid. It has more wind-generating stations than any other state with 11,000. Wind farms account for 21% of the state’s power generation. The Texas Tribune confirms Biden’s claim.

Wind energy is one of the lowest-priced energy sources because it is sold at fixed prices, turbines do not need fuel to run and the federal government provides subsidies. Texans who get their energy from wind farms in the High Plains region usually pay less for electricity than people in other areas of the state,” The Texas Tribune reported last year.

Biden appeared to fumble his words by saying, “And they’re being built right here in Wisconsin and in places where factories have been shut down,” implying that they were being built where factories had been shut down.

Biden Claims Investments Will Create Millions of Jobs

Biden continued claims that his investments would create millions of jobs across America.

“Remember what the experts said? To get inflation under control, you needed lower wages and higher unemployment. Not a joke. Those of you who are economists know that’s the economic mantra: To get inflation under control, fewer jobs, more unemployment. That’s number one. And making sure that you don’t have to deal with — that’s what they say caused the inflation,” Biden said. “But I never thought the problem was too many people working or working people making too much money. And one reason we’ve seen inflation fall by two-thirds without losing jobs is that we’re seeing corporate profits come back to — down to earth.”

Biden continued, “Folks, that’s Bidenomics. It’s about growing an economy by strengthening the middle class and making things in America again.”

Bidenomics Criticized

Biden’s suggestion that his policies have brought the economy back from the brink stand in stark contrast with the economic realities faced by many Americans. Rich Dad, Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki reminded Washington what Americans are dealing with in a jab against Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

“Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin says the IRA Inflation Reduction Act is “turning point” in saving our planet, “what is she smoking?” Has she been food shopping lately? Has she filled her gas tank lately? How many businesses closing? How about credit card debt? Biden’s team worst leaders in history,” Kiyosaki said in a Wednesday post on X.
