Republicans are firing back at press inquiries that insinuate Joe Biden’s impeachment inquiry is merely an act of “political revenge.”
During a Freedom Caucus press conference on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Tuesday, Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) snapped at a reporter who suggested that Republicans have no actual evidence “as opposed to allegations” to merit an impeachment inquiry.
Clearly fed up, Perry replied with snark, “Oh I don’t know.”
Biden’s Many Homes
Perry continued, “We have the bank accounts. You can see that the homes that the Bidens own can’t be afforded on a Congressional or Senate salary. You also understand that it’s not normal for family members to receive millions of dollars from overseas interest. Those things aren’t normal.”
Defendants of the Biden family have stated that the then senator purchased a 10,000 square foot mansion, which he dubbed “The Station,” in 1975 for $185,000 after learning the DuPont family home was slated for demolition. He sold the property back in 1996 for $1.2 million.
Prior to moving into the White House, since 1998 the Biden’s resided in a 6,850-square-foot home located in Wilmington, Delaware now worth at least $2 million according to reports.
In his autobiography Biden claims to have been enamored with real estate since he was young which often led him to override his common sense, stretching his finances.
The Biden’s also own a home in Rehoboth Beach and until recently, rented a home in McLean, VA.
Hunter Biden is currently renting a home in Malibu, CA that costs an estimated $20,000 a month.
The home being used for security detail reportedly costs $30,000 a month.
Perry’s Continued Accusations
Perry ranted on in the press conference, “That’s not normal to have 20 cell shell country companies. These things are not normal, and it alludes to not only just widespread corruption, but money laundering, if not influence peddling itself.”
The Senator then referenced the widely spread video that demonstrates Joe Biden bragging about his influence to get Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired. Shokin had been investigating corruption involving Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company whose board Hunter Biden served on and from whom he received $3 million, during Biden’s tenure as Vice President.
“We also have the president, the vice president at the time, on record saying that the prosecutor was fired. Well, son of a b*tch, the prosecutor was fired, right? Because the prosecutor was going after the company that his son was working on.”
“That’s what we have. If you can’t see that. If you are that blind, I’ll turn it over to the attorneys,” Perry concluded as he walked away from the podium.
When the reporter commented that the “American people can’t see that, they think it’s political revenge,” Perry laid it out very clearly for her.
“It’s because you don’t report on it!”
Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.), who is currently running for Attorney General in the state, took over to finish the job with the press.
Bishop had to explain to the reporter how investigations proceed and that they didn’t have to prove the case at this point. The purpose of the inquiry is to garner the ability to gather more evidence through subpoenas.
“There’s ample predication at this point in time based on that very unusual set of circumstances which is for no apparent expertise or services rendered, Biden family members writ large received over $20 million.”
Perry, in the background added, “that we know of.”
Bishop concluded with a statement that the Left can’t quite seem to grasp. “It is very simple for someone just to insist there’s an absence of evidence. Anyone has the right to their opinion, what you can’t do is change the facts.”
