When I first learned about this pistol, I was curious about what made it so different from other firearms.
After researching and comparing many reviews and specifications, a unanimous opinion holds that this is a one-of-a-kind, superior firearm.
In this article, I will review what makes this product so particularly unique, its pros and cons, and describe some of the features contained in this pistol.
Glock 19X: A Product Overview
The Glock 19X is Glock’s first “crossover” pistol. It combines the compact slide of the Glock 19 with the full-sized grip of the Glock 17. The user has a comfortable feel in their hands while also allowing for the efficiency of a compact slide. Created for combat use and now available on the market for civilians, this is a resourceful firearm for any situation.
The Glock 19X is one of Glock’s best-selling models, having sold over 100,000 pistols within the first six months of its public release.
The Glock 19X is dependable and versatile. A solid firearm for any occasion, including at the range, for home defense, or even hunting. Designed for the military, it excels in accuracy, durability, and reliability.

Crossover Model
The crossover body makes this model accessible to all hand sizes and easy to control. It incorporates the large grip of the Glock 17 with the compact slide of the Glock 19.
The trigger press is 5.8 lbs, though one user recorded the trigger press to average at 7.0 lbs. Though this may seem high, it undoubtedly increases the accuracy, making this model a near-perfect shot every single time. The benefit is worth the added weight.
nPVD coating
The Glock 19X is equipped with a Physical Vapor Deposition (nPVD) coating. This coating prevents corrosion over time. Glock 19X will withstand chemicals and the elements, making it an obvious choice for both in-home and outdoor use.
Additionally, the coyote tan is the stock and only color for the Glock 19X. Some people do not like it, but others find it attractive and unique.
Ergonomic Comfort
This particular pistol has removed finger grooves, making it more comfortable to hold. The slide stop lever is ambidextrous for both left-handed and right-handed shooters. Features are easy to locate and use.
Glock 19X offers a low-impact recoil, smooth trigger fire, and accessible grip for any hand size.
What do Others Say?
I have found through research an almost unanimous conclusion that this is one of the best pistols on the market. Ben Findley on usacarry.com scored this model 91 out of 100 based on ten features, such as weight and length, ergonomics, trigger press, and value. Other reviewers agree with his opinion, rating this model at a high score. No need to simply take my word for it. You can view Ben Findley’s article by clicking the link in this paragraph. Glocks of America Glock 19X review
Our very own Senior Editor Harry J. Kazianis is a proud owner of the Glock 19X and has fired several thousand rounds through the firearm. He explained that “the 19X is one very solid, dependable, and reliable gun overall. In using the 19X for over a year, I have easily fired several thousand bullets through it and had only 2-3 jams overall. The 19X loves any and all types of 9mm I cycle through it, and the maintenance on the gun is what you would expect of it. I can recommend it for home defense, general self-defense, and concealed carry situations for sure.”
Alternatives
Smith and Wesson M & P
The Smith and Wesson M & P is designed for personal and professional use. It is just as versatile as the Glock 19X in this respect and is also comfortable to hold. This model is at a similar price point to the Glock 19X.
Sig Sauer P320 M17
This model has a similar tan color and is adaptable for military and consumer usage. It is a somewhat bigger gun at a lower price, but this model is an excellent contender to the Glock 19X.
Conclusion: The Glock 19X Is One Solid Firearm
The Glock 19X is a terrific model that outperforms many other firearms in its class. Created with durability and performance in mind, the intention within its conception is threefold:
