Lauren Boebert: The Giant Fraud America Is Sick Of?

I’ve become what’s known as a “Lauren Boebert whisperer” among my colleagues of late. I am a skilled translator of her mindless, partisan rage and hyper-emotional—almost manic—appeals to an ill-defined patriotism that has come to embody the (incredibly shrinking) political career of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

In the vein of those visceral—mindless, really—screeches for patriotism, Rep. Boebert’s cacophony of political inanities has reached its awful crescendo. She now wants her followers to disrupt commercial flights, get into fights with testy school board members, and behave in totally irrational ways.

What has aggravated Boebert’s raging political bile duct?

Nothing in particular.

Just plain, old-fashioned therapeutic politics.

She wants her followers to alleviate their ill-defined political outrage by screaming and fighting in public—in the name of “patriotism.”

I’m not one opposed to standing up for that which I believe in. I’m not even opposed to people using physical violence if their rights are truly being infringed upon or if they are actually threatened by those who oppose them politically. Self-defense is a time-honored American value.

Lauren Boebert is Just Mad

Boebert is saying that which she is saying not because there’s a great physical threat to the rights and personal safety of her followers.

Of course, there are impositions being forced upon us along the periphery, but the Republican Party and members of the Right have been steadfastly resisting without having to resort to violence.

The Colorado congresswoman is making her claims because the walls are closing in around her. She knows that her time in Congress is limited. The Democrats are nominating someone to challenge her who lost by 500 votes in 2022.

What’s more, Boebert is painfully unpopular in her district—and her bizarre opposition to Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) ascension to Speaker of House in January only lessened her popularity. And, if Boebert gets her way, she’ll run the country off the fiscal cliff this summer, when Congress is set to vote on raising the debt ceiling (which she ardently opposes).

Then there’s the ongoing psychodrama involving Boebert’s family.

Recently, her son was involved in a marijuana-and-Xanax-infused high-speed caper which resulted in his SUV tipping over at extreme speeds. When the police arrived on-scene and realized he was Rep. Boebert’s son, the young Boebert was given a slap on the wrist, while the son’s 19-year-old friend who was in the passenger seat and sustained severe injuries was blamed and charged with greater crimes than the young Boebert.

Lauren Boebert won an unlikely victory in 2020. Like so many of the “MAGA”-type Republicans who were elevated to office—including former President Donald J. Trump—they wasted their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to truly make a difference. Rather than fighting for the best interests of their constituents, these elected leaders made their time in office about themselves. They fixated on the best tweets; on “owning the Libs”, even at the expense of the national interest.

All to get five minutes of fame on Right-wing media.

Boebert Botched Her One Opportunity

Because Lauren Boebert was too busy waxing extremist for the last few years and engaging in precisely the same kind of corrupt behavior that the Bidens routinely engaged (shielding her kin from the law while making other victims pay for it), Colorado voters are done.

Boebert had a very small mandate when she was elected. It is all but a done-deal that her time in office will be terminated by her constituents who tired of her showboating and insanity.

That’s why she’s encouraging random acts of violence by her followers. It’s to soothe her wounded ego. To bring others down into the muck with her. Resist these empty calls for political catharsis-through-violence. Don’t make Republicans look worse than the Democrats as Lauren Boebert often does in the eyes of many independent voters.
