Hunter Biden has been given preferential treatment, or so that’s what two IRS whistleblowers have reported to the House Oversight Committee.
According to Gary Shapley, a Supervisory Agent in the IRS-turned-whistleblower, his agency had recommended felony tax evasion charges for the First Son, Hunter Biden, in his tax evasion and illegal gun ownership case.
On top of that, the IRS had asked for felony charges to be lobbed at Hunter Biden for the tax evasion allegations.
Instead, Hunter Biden was allowed to make a plea deal with the prosecution in that case. This is a far cry from what the IRS had initially wanted to do to the First Son for him having broken federal law.
And it is, of course, far less than what would have happened had these charges been made against a member of the Trump Family.
Slow-Walking Justice
Shapley asserted that, in his senior role in the IRS, he witnessed Hunter Biden receiving “preferential treatment” as the Department of Justice (DOJ) “slow-walked” the investigation into the First Son.
Interestingly, the investigation was initiated in the final year of the Trump Administration and nominally overseen by a man who was once viewed as former President Donald J. Trump’s proverbial bagman, then-Attorney General Bill Barr.
In Shapley’s assessment, though, Bill Barr’s DOJ started “dragging their feet” around April 2020, the same time that Joe Biden had become the Democratic Party’s official presidential nominee in that year’s contentious Presidential Election Cycle.
The DOJ attorneys charged with prosecuting Hunter Biden for his blatant federal crimes were, in the words of Shapley, “hesitant” to execute search warrants, favoring instead cooperation with Hunter Biden’s attorneys.
Could you imagine the DOJ treating any Trump Family member this way, if they were under a similar (or even less) investigation?
DOJ Delay Game
Shapley outlined nothing less than a conspiracy on the part of DOJ prosecutors to withhold from investigators Hunter Biden’s laptop, a treasure trove of incriminating evidence damning not only Hunter Biden but also, more than likely, his father.
Shapley further explained how these DOJ-imposed delays were negatively impacting his investigation into countless other, related tax crimes perpetrated by Hunter Biden.
The longer the delays were imposed by the DOJ on possible tax crimes from 2014 and 2015, according to Shapley, the less likely he was going to be able to charge Hunter Biden with those alleged crimes because the statute of limitations were going to be breached.
For those basketball fans reading this, what Shapley is basically saying is that the DOJ was running out the clock on him so that he couldn’t charge Hunter with greater crimes than he was already being investigated for having committed.
Gary Shapley believes this was done because the DOJ prosecutors were interested less in Hunter Biden’s crimes—and the possibility that his father may have been an accomplice to those crimes—and more in protecting who they thought was to be the next president of the United States.
Of course, the Barr DOJ would have likely argued that they were merely following the long-running DOJ standard to not engage in legal action against presidential candidates during an election cycle.
That generic defense of the DOJ’s actions in this case, if one is to take what Shapley and the other unnamed IRS whistleblower told the Oversight Committee, is patently absurd.
Speaking of the other anonymous IRS whistleblower, a special agent in the IRS’ criminal investigative team, has testified that the conduct of DOJ prosecutors in the Hunter Biden tax evasion case was “appalling.”
It was appalling to this expert whistleblower because if it were anyone other than Hunter Biden, this wouldn’t have been an issue.
No delay would have been had. Instead, the IRS would have done what it always does: ruin the lives of ordinary Americans (or the lives of Republicans).
Usually, when dealing with a high-profile case of corruption, the DOJ likes to make examples of people. They like to remind everyone that no one, as the tired saying goes, is above the law.
But of course, we live in 2023 America. Not everyone is above the law.
In fact, some of the undesirables among us will have the law weaponized against them, as has happened with former President Donald J. Trump. The one group that appears to be above the law is none other than President Biden’s family.
This is not partisan rhetoric or hyperbole on my part. This is coming from two IRS whistleblowers. Hunter Biden was protected by the DOJ because his father was bound to be the president in 2020. Rather than treat justice as a blind affair, the DOJ went into preservation mode.
The institution clearly worked overtime to ensure that the son of the next president would not face jail time for his obvious criminal behavior. And the rest of us little people are supposed to be offended with how boorish Trump’s behavior has been (it has been awful) and forget how unfair our justice system is.
Hunter Biden Special Treatment
I would argue Hunter Biden was given special treatment because of who his daddy was. What’s more, Hunter Biden likely traded on his important daddy’s name to get lucrative “business” contracts with Chinese state-owned enterprises as well as Ukrainian, Romanian, and a bevy of other foreign state-owned businesses.
It is likely that part of the money that the First Son made from his allegedly illicit dealings with these foreign regimes ended up in the coffers of his father, Joe Biden.
The Biden Family attempted to cover the payments up. And the DOJ and the rest of the Administrative State is covering for President Biden. But we know. Hunter Biden is being protected because of who his father is and because to punish him would be to bring down a great many other powerful people.
Plus, in bringing down the Democratic Party’s elite for alleged corruption, it is likely that DOJ would inadvertently empower their great enemy, Donald Trump, in his attempt to return to power in 2024.
So, the DOJ and the rest of the Administrative State will stop at nothing to protect the Biden Family so long as they can prevent Trump from returning to power.
Face it: the Hunter Biden case proves the Justice system in this country is broken. It increasingly looks like the (in)justice system that defines life in many banana republics around the world. Unless the American people remove the blight that is the Biden Administration, the taint of their pernicious corruption will continue growing, and the American people will be made to live in a nation that does not prize justice, but instead values power and money above all else.
That’s not a country I want to live in.
Please, my fellow Americans, recognize the raw deal that Hunter Biden represents to the Truth and to justice. Vote his father out of office and force the system to hold the wayward First Son accountable.
