Joe Biden Is Starting to Get a Little Scary

Questions about Joe Biden’s mental fitness for the presidency continue to mount. The president told reporters that Vladimir Putin was losing the war in Iraq. It has further questions about the 80-year-old president’s age.

“It’s hard to tell,” Biden replied to a reporter’s question about Putin. “But he’s clearly losing the war in Iraq.  He’s losing the war at home.  And he has become a bit of a pariah around the world.”

Biden made his comment before leaving for Chicago.

It was the second time in 24 hours that Biden made the flub.

“If anybody told you — and my staff wasn’t so sure, either — that we’d be able to bring all of Europe together in the onslaught on Iraq and get NATO to be completely united, I think they would have told you it’s not likely,” Biden said. “The one thing Putin counted on was being able to split NATO.”

Joe Biden Gaffes the Latest of This Month

Earlier this month, Biden caused a stir after he randomly blurted out “God Save the Queen.” Observers were quick to point out that Queen Elizabeth II died last September and that Charles III was king of England now.

“I have seen countless ― and I mean countless ―drunk people say something totally obscure like ‘God save the Queen’ and then jaunt around like a Joe Biden just did in an effort to play it off as if they were sober. He’s truly incapacitated,” tweeted political strategist Evan Berryhill.

Days earlier Joe Biden delivered an incomprehensible speech about building a railroad across the oceans.

“We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean. We have plans to build in Angola – One of the largest solar plants in the world. I could go on but I’m going off-script and I’m going to get in trouble,” Biden said.

Polling Shows Americans Worried About Joe Biden

Sixty-eight percent of voters worry about Biden’s mental fitness, according to a new NBC News poll, including 55% who say they have major concerns.

Biden would be 86 years old at the end of a second term if he wins in 2024. He would be older than Ronald Reagan was when he publicly announced his battle with Alzheimer’s in 1994. Yet the poll also shows Biden leading former President Donald Trump by four points nationally.

Biden’s Aging More Public Than Reagan’s

Biden’s aging is more public than Reagan’s.

During Reagan’s presidency, questions about his mental acuity were rife during his second term; however, Reagan’s forgetfulness was not as public. Nonetheless, the media raised questions about Reagan’s faculties when he was five years younger than Biden at 75.

“If the topic is senility, memory is only one part — and a small one at that — of such an evaluation. Senility is the layman’s term for what physicians refer to as dementia, which describes a specific set of impairments. Besides memory, particular attention is given to orientation, language, fund of knowledge, capacity for abstract thought and judgment,” neurologist Richard Restak wrote in a 1987 Washington Post column. “When we consider the case of Ronald Reagan, America’s foremost septuagenarian, we have to put him into context. Has he changed? The criticism is made that his communications are low in specific information and high in anecdote.

Restak continued: “If the president can be faulted for his mental performance, it is entirely likely that the flaw results not from dementia but from laziness.”

Biden’s defenders have claimed that he’s just prone to making dumb remarks. During the 2008 presidential campaign, he notably called Barack Obama “Barack America” and told a wheelchair-bound Democratic state senator to stand up.
