Lauren Boebert has another idea that is sure to make people’s heads spin: she wants to try and impeach Joe Biden: After her friend-turned-rival Marjorie Taylor Greene has spent the last two-and-a-half years attempting to impeach President Biden, Rep. Lauren Boebert has introduced her own articles of impeachment.

Lauren Boebert: What Crazy Idea Does She Have Now?

Republicans, led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have been trying to impeach President Biden ever since his first full day in office, with a total of over a dozen impeachment resolutions introduced since 2021. The reasons for the attempted impeachments have ranged from Biden’s border policies to accusations of wrongdoing by his son, Hunter Biden.

Now, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has gotten in on the impeachment act herself.

Per Fox News, Boebert has introduced her own article of impeachment, accusing Biden of failing his “constitutional duty to secure our southern border.”

“I introduced the articles of impeachment in the last Congress and had fully intended to introduce them this Congress, but I was also giving some other committees and leadership the opportunity to lead on this,” Boebert told Fox.

She added that if the House Republican leadership does not “actually do something about the president’s failure to secure our southern border and keep the country safe,” she will use a “privileged motion” to introduce the legislation.

Also this week, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) introduced his own articles of impeachment, against both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. This time, the accusation was that Biden had acted to “shield the business and influence peddling schemes of his family from congressional oversight and public accountability.”

The Ogles resolution, per Fox News, also accused Biden of, with his border policies, acting in a “manner contrary to the public trust and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.”

As for Harris, Ogles accused her of “extraordinary incompetence in the execution of her duties and responsibilities and an indifference to Americans suffering as a result of America’s ongoing southern border crisis.”

Boebert had been a cosponsor of the Ogles version, in addition to her own resolution.

She told Fox of her plan for bringing her resolution forward.

“Under Rule IX in the House, we can bring up certain pieces of legislation under a privileged motion,” Boebert said in the interview. “So I would go to the House floor and call up my articles of impeachment and read it in its entirety. And at that point, leadership has a maximum of two days to respond and see if it’s going to be sent to committee or a vote on the articles themselves.”

Lauren Boebert Looks a Little Crazy

So far in the current Congress, the House Republican leadership has shown no visible appetite for an impeachment inquiry for Biden, following the pair of impeachments of Donald Trump during his presidency. Democratic leadership in the House, including then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, had been skeptical about pursuing impeachment until word broke of Trump’s phone call in which he pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate President Biden in exchange for military aid.

The House Oversight Committee and other Congressional committees have been investigating President Biden on various fronts, most recently pushing a story that Biden had accepted a bribe while vice president. The available evidence for that story, however, remains thin. And the GOP has a small majority in the House, so they may not have the votes to impeach Biden- and they certainly don’t have the votes in the Democratic-controlled

Earlier this week, Boebert was sued by American Muckrakers, a political action committee with which she has been feuding for much of her time in Congress. American Muckrakers has accused Boebert of various far-fetched misdeeds, including that she had used drugs, had abortions, and worked as an escort in the past.

David Wheeler, that group’s leader, has filed a lawsuit against the Congresswoman, alleging that she defamed him in an appearance on Sean Hannity’s radio show, when she stated that American Muckrakers was lying about her.
