Hunter Biden Vowed ‘Last Laugh’ in Text Message to Devon Archer

There are probably times that Hunter Biden, the troubled son of President Joe Biden, wishes he had made a phone call instead of sending a text.

There are probably times that Hunter Biden, the troubled son of President Joe Biden, wishes he had made a phone call instead of sending a text.

A number of the younger Biden’s past texts – as well as emails – have come back to haunt him. That was certainly the case of a text message that was first reviewed by Fox News Digital this past weekend as it was an exchange between Hunter Biden and his longtime friend and business partner Devon Archer – and while it was light-hearted at the time, there is little to laugh about now.

In the text from November 2018, Hunter Biden was informed by Archer that the “judge threw out my conviction today.”

Hunter Biden then responded, “Thank [expletive] god! First good news in way too long my friend. I am so happy for you. I know its (sic) been a living hell but put it behind you now and take great steps forward.”

Archer continued, “Love you brother.”

Archer had been linked to the fraudulent issuance and sale of more than $60 million of tribal bonds, but U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams in Manhattan – who was overseeing the case – assessed at the time that it failed to show that Archer knew that the bond issue was fraudulent, or that he received any personal benefit from it. However, the conviction was reinstated by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals a month before the 2020 election. Archer was subsequently sentenced to a year and a day in prison in February 2022.

Archer was also ordered to forfeit $15,700,513 and to make restitution in the amount of $43,427,436.

Hunter Biden Could Not Contol Himself

It was also reported that in the text exchange, Hunter Biden referred to the Department of Justice (DoJ) as another expletive and added, “I swear to god we’ll have the last laugh.”

To that Archer responded, “I know. And I mean it. Can I please come see you now that I’m not a felon!?! Don’t answer that. Just when and where?”

Partners in Crime?

Archer co-founded BHR Partners in 2013, which was a joint venture between Rosemont Seneca Partners and Chinese investment firm Bohai Capital. BHR Partners is a Beijing-backed private equity firm controlled by Bank of China Limited.

Fox News Digital also reported that months after Hunter Biden and Archer joined the Burisma board, Hunter expressed gratitude for Archer’s friendship in an unprompted email.

“Just wanted to let you know- at the risk of sounding melodramatic- how much I love you. You have been a great friend through thick and thin, and I wanted to make sure you know how much I appreciate it,” Hunter reportedly said to Archer. “I know I haven’t made it easy being my partner at times, but more than anyone outside my brother you have been there for me. And don’t worry I’m not planning on jumping off [a] bridge or anything- just thought I should let you know how much your friendship means to me. Love, H.”

Archer arrived at the O’Neill House Office Building on Monday morning to offer testimony to House lawmakers behind closed doors. While he ignored reporter questions, and Democrats have downplayed what he might say, one question not being asked is who will actually have the last laugh.

This is a developing story.
