The Marjorie Taylor Greene Disaster Just Exploded

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is in the news a lot and it’s rarely flattering. But MTG’s may have bottomed out with her latest round of headlines.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is in the news a lot and it’s rarely flattering. But MTG’s may have bottomed out with her latest round of headlines.

On Wednesday, during a House Oversight Committee hearing into Hunter Biden, MTG showed up with explicit posters to emphasize her point.

That’s right, MTG showed up to a House Oversight Committee hearing with explicit posters of the president’s son.

“Before we begin, I would like to let the committee and everyone watching at home know that parental discretion is advised,” Green said. She then proceeded to ask questions while holding up posters with pictures of Hunter Biden engaged in sexual acts. Black boxes were used to obscure certain parts of Biden’s anatomy, as well as the face of the woman (allegedly a prostitute) who Biden is engaged with, but enough of the picture was displayed to let viewers at home know exactly what was going on.

It’s sick stuff, man.

It really is.

On so many levels.

You want to go after Hunter Biden’s tax records, have at it. You want to talk about Burisma, go for it. But marching out with a poster of Hunter Biden having sex is completely unhinged and completely tangential to anything resembling government function.

“Should we displaying this, Mr. Chairman?” Jamie Raskin asked Oversight Chair James Comer. The correct answer: no.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Went Too Far

The pictures in question were recovered when Hunter Biden abandoned his laptop at a computer repair store.

That the computer store owner would politically exploit his customer’s property is concerning. That sexually explicit photographs that were recovered from the computer is especially concerning.

The entire incident seems adjacent to a revenge **** scenario in which someone distributes the explicit pictures of their ex – which, thanks to relatively modern legislation, is illegal.

The specifics of the Hunter Biden pictures don’t match up perfectly with revenge **** protections, but it’s close enough that you’d think the people distributing and celebrating the pictures would bear some societal criticism for acting in a way that closely resembles illegal activity.

Imagine if some of the identity markers in this case were switched around. Namely, imagine if Hunter Biden happened to be a woman and a member of congress were parading pictures of that woman having sex. The outrage would be intense. MTG would be accused of **** shaming. We’re not going to have that conversation because Hunter Biden is a bro but the principle is the same regardless of Biden’s immutable characteristics.

It may also be worth mentioning that Hunter Biden is a private citizen. If you want to raise questions about President Joe Biden’s behavior in relation to Hunter, that’s fine. But I don’t see a connection between the President and what’s going on in MTG’s poster boards.

That’s a Hunter Biden issue that, to my knowledge, holds no bearing whatsoever on anything government related. Speaking of which, MTG’s salary and her staff’s salary and the poster board she used – it all comes out of our taxpayers.

So, we’re the ones paying for this zealot to print up pictures of Hunter Biden and a prostitute and we’re the ones paying for MTG to run around an Oversight hearing doing crazy stunts like this.

In sum, MTG is trash and we deserve better.
