Hunter Biden called his legal troubles the “price of power” in an exchange of text messages with her former friend and business partner Devon Archer on March 6, 2019. This text exchange offers a window into the close personal relationship that Biden and Archer once shared.
That was a little over a month before Joe Biden declared his candidacy for president in the 2020 presidential election.
Archer questioned why he had been prosecuted by the Obama-Biden administration for defrauding a Native American tribe while his father was vice president.
Hunter Biden denied any connection between Archer’s work with the Bidens and the decision to prosecute him.
“Buddy are you serious,” Biden replied. “Because. There’s no connection between the two, the same the justice department can investigate and prosecute this president and his family it does for all administrations. It’s democracy. Three co equal (sic) branches of government.”
“You are always more vulnerable to the overreach of those Co equal branches when you are in power. Every presidents family is held to a higher standard is a target (sic),” Biden continued. “It’s the price of being the most powerful group of people in the world. It’s why our democracy remains viable.”
Hunter Biden Suggests Devon Archer Was an Adopted Family Member
Biden seemed to consider Devon Archer as almost an adopted family member in his chat with his former business partner and blamed his connection with the Biden family.
“That’s the way Bidens are different and you are a Biden. It’s the price of power and the people questioning you truly have none whereas you do through perseverance and poise,” Hunter Biden said, responding to a comment by Archer about how his late brother Beau was like a brother to him.
Archer returned Biden’s brotherly affection.
“I love you too buddy. And know that I understand, but please of all the people in the world to decide to put the blame on please don’t let it be me. Almost Every other person in my life has done that and I’m somehow the source of all their disappointments. I’m beginning to believe all of them,” Biden replied. “And we aren’t a banana republic buddy. The powerful are targets in this country the more powerful they become.”
Biden continued. “But the truth prevails if you have the stamina and guts and enough love to stay the course.”
Archer was Hunter Biden’s single most important business associate, having been involved in most of his major deals ranging from Burisma to BHR Partners in China.
“I know. And I mean it. Can I please come see you now that I’m not a felon!?!” Archer said. “Don’t answer that. Just when and where?”
Hunter joked that he liked Archer “better as a felon.”
Archer Turning Bidens Could Damage POTUS
Archer’s close relationship with Hunter Biden shows he has an intimate understanding of the Bidens’ familial bonds. He told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in a video posted on Twitter that Hunter Biden traded on his father’s name to get business deals.
“What Hunter ran into was almost an Icarus issue. It was too close to the Sun. It was too good to be true, and the connections were too close and the scrutiny too much, and it led to the destruction of a number of businesses over a number of years,” Archer told Carlson, repeating that then-Vice President Joe Biden participated in at least 20 teleconferences with potential business clients while he was in office. “I can definitively say that at particular dinners and at particular meetings he knew there were business associates, or if I was there I was a business associate too.
Archer continued: “I don’t know if it was an orchestrated call or not. It certainly was powerful though, because if you are sitting with a foreign business person and you hear the vice president’s voice that’s a prize enough … It’s an abuse of soft power.”
Archer testified to Congress earlier this week that Burisma wanted help setting aside the Ukrainian government’s investigation into Burisma. He learned second-hand from Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi that he, Hunter, and Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky had called Joe Biden during their trip to Dubai for a Burisma board meeting.
His comments show that although he had close access to the Bidens, there were still things he was not privy to.
America Needs Answers on Hunter Biden Scandal Now
If congressional investigators want to get to the bottom of the Biden enigma, they will need to depose Pozharsky, Zlochevsky, and Oleskandr Ostapenko, who likely have the real information about whether Joe Biden accepted a bribe to get rid of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
