Haley Warns Against ‘Chilling’ President Kamala Harris – Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has raised concerns about the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris assuming the presidency if Democrats win in 2024, cautioning that it should “send a chill up every American’s spine.”

During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Haley, who is one of the Republican contenders for the 2024 election, expressed reservations about the re-election of former President Donald Trump. She cited Trump’s numerous indictments and ongoing legal challenges as potential distractions.
Haley, while acknowledging her friendship with Trump and her previous service in his administration, emphasized the need for a new generational leader within the Republican Party.
She argued that such a leader could attract not only Republicans but also independent voters, suburban women, Hispanics, and the Asian community.
“My concern is we cannot have Kamala Harris as president. We can’t chance this. We have to make sure that we have a new generational leader,” Haley stated during the interview.
‘Humanizing’ Abortion Issue
During the interview, Haley also emphasized the need for Republicans to address the issue of abortion and find common ground.
She urged the party to “humanize” the matter and engage in open dialogue instead of avoiding it.
“[Republicans need to] acknowledge that the issue is real,” Haley stated, highlighting her personal pro-life stance due to her husband’s adoption and her own struggles with childbirth. She stressed the importance of finding consensus on the topic and educating the public about the legislative process required to enact federal changes.
Recent legislation passed in blue states such as California, Colorado, Maine and New York, have not stipulated any time limits on abortion. Numerous top Democrats including Senators Bernie Sanders and John Fetterman, along with New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham have publicly stated their opposition to limits.
Do Voters Agree?
Kamala Harris has polled below 50 per cent approval throughout her time as Vice President, so while the prospect of her in the White House might not “chill” American voters, most of them would be disappointed at the prospect.
How is Haley Doing?
Haley’s comments come in the wake of a recent Fox News poll, which indicated that 53% of likely voters within the GOP prefer Donald Trump as their candidate for the 2024 election, maintaining a substantial lead over other potential contenders like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Haley, while ranking fifth in the field, remains confident in her campaign’s prospects.
According to YouGov US, Haley is known by 77% of US adults, liked by 33%. A further 18% expressed neutrality towards her, while 27% cited outright dislike. IN other words, she has a lot of room to grow.
Following last Wednesday’s GOP Presidential debate, just 7% of viewers told a J.L. Partners poll for DailyMail.com that the former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley had emerged victorious.
