AOC Hates America – A recent townhall at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, that was hosted by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and a handful of other Far Left Democratic Party elected officials went off the rails.
The reason for the townhall being made a mess had nothing to do with the Republican Party. There are hardly any Republicans in New York City to begin with. The people of New York City, irate over the influx of illegal immigrants into the Big Apple—AOC’s constituents—disrupted the event.
The topic the elected officials had come to discuss was, not coincidentally, the controversial matter of illegal immigrants being sent to New York City from America’s broken southwestern border.
The Roosevelt Hotel is being used as a processing center for these illegal immigrants. Most New Yorkers are irate that their city has become a processing center for one of the most significant influxes of illegal immigrants in modern American history.
Mayor Eric Adams Says Illegals are Coming to Destroy New York City
The Big Apple has seen around 110,000 migrants enter the city since last year. Many official assessments of the migration wave indicate that the city is experiencing around 10,000 migrants coming a month. Even the Left-wing mayor of New York, Eric Adams, has expressed concern.
Speaking at a townhall meeting in the Upper East Side of the storied metropolis, Mayor Adams gloomily predicted that, “I don’t an ending to [the illegal immigration wave]. The issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.”
Enter AOC, probably one of the most incompetent members of the United States House of Representatives (and that’s saying something). Someone who isn’t even qualified to be a congressional intern has now found herself as one of the most talked about elected officials in the country.
She has—begrudgingly, mind you—waded into the crisis afflicting her city.
AOC, along with other Democrats find themselves in a political pickle of their own making. As the most Far Left members in the Democratic Party, AOC is incapable of acknowledging just how irresponsible the Biden Administration’s (and the wider Democratic Party’s) open borders policy really is.
While giving her townhall at the Roosevelt Hotel, AOC was repeatedly shouted down by her own constituents, who urged her to “Follow the Constitution” by sending the migrants back to where they came.
For the record, New York City is an overwhelmingly Liberal city. The people denouncing AOC are unlikely to be Republicans. Border states, like Arizona, Texas, and elsewhere have been experiencing for at least 20 years the horrors that New York City is experiencing in the last year. Few New Yorkers—if any—truly had a problem with the ramifications of the open borders chaos that their preferred Democratic Party has inflicted upon the United States.
It is only now, that utter naïfs, like AOC, openly encourage the continuation of policies that even Democratic Party New York City Mayor Eric Adams say will “destroy” the Big Apple forever, that Democratic voters in New York are having a problem.
They’re denouncing AOC.
AOC is the One They’ve Been Waiting for…But They’re Not Happy
Yet, she is merely the byproduct of the very kind of Liberal indoctrination that Liberal voters in the Northeastern United States have overwhelmingly supported for decades.
Why aren’t they applauding her?
Is it because they are now being made to live with the poisonous fruits of their own failed policies?
AOC certainly has done little to help her cause.
Looking pale and as though she were the equivalent of a deer caught in the headlights on oncoming traffic (more like an individual being hoist by her own ideological petard), AOC stammered out that, “There is consensus here across geographies and state on increased federal resources to cities and municipalities dealing with this issue.”
Breaking news, AOC: there is not any consensus on the acceptability of allowing 110,000 (and counting) illegal immigrants into New York City over the last year.
That’s why thousands of your own constituents appeared outside the Roosevelt Hotel where they knew you’d be speaking to denounce your party’s immigration policies.
Mayor Adams doesn’t seem to think that increased federal aid to New York City being the magical elixir to the illegal immigration problem that America’s most storied metropolis is enduring. He has explicitly said that the ceaseless human wave entering his city is going to “destroy it”.
The issue, AOC, is not whether New York City can process these unwanted persons fast enough. The problem is that the city cannot possibly absorb so many new people into its already ailing infrastructure.
By the way, this is a microcosm of why illegal immigration into the United States is so bad for the country.
Talk About Not Getting It, AOC
And that gets us to the fundamental disconnect—and the disingenuousness—of the national Democratic Party’s immigration stance.
For AOC, a show-boater and perennial climber, she has no serious beliefs. Her only commitment is to further her own shallow career (going from a bartender in the Bronx to making six-figures as an empty pantsuit on Capitol Hill is far too good of a gig to risk by living with the consequences of her terrible policies).
She followed her previous nonsensical statement about consensus being reached in New York by insisting that they needed more resources in New York City to process and integrate the illegal migrants faster…so that the illegal immigrants could get jobs and support themselves.
But that’s not what her Liberal constituents are saying. She knows that, too. It’s just that the powerful interests controlling AOC’s meteoric career benefit from having access to cheap labor and an influx of supportive votes every election cycle.
Mayor Adams doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and their billionaire donors: the whole point of flooding the nation with illegal immigrants as rapidly as possible is to collapse the system.
That’s why AOC came down from Washington, D.C. to refuse to offer her assistance in stopping the flow of illegal immigrants.
Its why she insisted that more federal resources be directed at integrating the illegal immigrants, despite the city not being able to offer any opportunities for the massive number of people who’ve suddenly arrived there—not while the city endures historic crime waves and masses of New Yorkers fleeing for neighboring Republican states, with better tax laws, healthier economies, and more safety.
Of course, AOC’s own Liberal voters don’t want to see this happen.
The Left and AOC are Trying to Destroy America
They want her and her fellow elected officials to “follow the Constitution.” Where in the United States Constitution does it say that the United States must become the refugee capital of the world?
Why is it up to the US government or the City of New York to help to find jobs for people who just arrived in the country illegally while New York experiences homelessness crises and has plenty of its own citizens unable to find gainful employment?
The only upside to the human and constitutional tragedy that is the illegal immigration invasion under the Biden Administration is that maybe at least some Liberals will wake up to the error of their policies.
Perhaps some actual consensus can be forged between reasonable Leftists and Rightists on this issue that will both curb unwanted illegal migration into the United States and prevent the human catastrophe of illegal immigration from being worsened by failed Democratic Party immigration policies of the sort that AOC unequivocally supports.
