Marjorie Taylor Greene is Crazy—But She’s Also Right About Guns

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has been a lightning rod in the United States House of Representatives since the time she was sworn in – or launched her campaign. A woman who cut through the opposition in both parties with rabid Right-wing ideology, an overt obsession with guns, and withering insults—as well as threats of violence, as her fellow Republican and Far Right member of Congress, Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado learned—MTG is now taking aim at another powerful female politician.

This time, MTG is targeting Democratic Party Vice-President Kamala Harris for destruction.

After recently calling for an assault weapons ban, Harris was attacked by MTG on social media. In the words of MTG, America doesn’t need an assault weapons ban. Instead, America requires a “ban on communist politicians like [Kamala Harris].”

In this, MTG is likely the more correct of the two. America does not need a gun ban. It needs a ban on partisan hackery and Leftist policies that do nothing more than harm the ordinary American and empower the politicians who are supposed to be serving the American people.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is Crazy Like a Fox

I know, Marjorie Taylor Greene is crazy. But she’s crazy like a fox. Unlike Boebert, who has proven herself to be a loony, one-trick political pony (with a ton of baggage), MTG has evolved into a deft operator. She’s not perfect. MTG can’t shake the crazy entirely.

From orchestrating the elevation of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) who, regardless of what you think of him, McCarthy was the only Republican politician who was going to get the speakership back in January, to become savvier about her role on various committees, MTG has shown room for growth. She still might not be the adult in the room.

Although, she has become at least a teenager in a room full of children.

What MTG is saying about Harris’ stance is apt.

It’s an absurd statement to believe that the U.S. federal government should ban something enshrined in the United States Constitution.

Moreover, it’s obscene that the very same Leftists who are demanding that law-abiding American citizens unilaterally disarm while the Biden-Harris Administration spends millions of tax dollars subsidizing unwanted electric vehicles (EV) to combat Global Warming.

Or threatens private lenders with legal action if they refuse to give loans to illegal immigrants.

The Biden-Harris Administration has been dangerously selective in the constitutional roles it chooses to enforce. For example, the White House has done little to curb the flow of illegal immigration or to stop all the criminality associated with those flows.

The White House has thrown the proverbial book at individuals who are accused of having partaken in the January 6 riots, but they continue giving legal cover to those who caused $2 billion in damage during the 2020 George Floyd race riots that tore the country apart—and they even, at times, have encouraged the violent actions of these groups.

With all these criminal actions taking place around us, in the open, while the Biden-Harris Administration does little to stop the criminality, the White House has opted instead to fixate on law-abiding gun owners. It used to be that, like owning a car or a house, owning a gun was a symbol of American freedom and independence.

Now, it makes you suspicious.

Never mind that overwhelming numbers of gun owners have never harmed a fly with their firearms. Or that the reason many people in America today are becoming interested in personal firearms is precisely because of the overall criminality that the Biden-Harris Administration has encouraged and excused.

Guns are Legal and Save Lives, Too

The Democrats would argue that easy access to guns explains the incidence of school shootings and other forms of gun-related violence in public. But what about the many examples of how private gun owners averted an even greater catastrophe by being armed and being able—and willing—to use their personal firearms to put down a mass shooter?

And what about the example of when unarmed people, such as the students at the tragic Uvalde, Tex., school shooting, were left to the ravages of a mass shooter while the authorities twiddled their heavily armed thumbs outside the school for hours?

Vice-President Harris would have Americans surrender their personal firearms while she and her fellow Democrats did little to use state power to curb the very threats to individual Americans that encourage greater levels of gun ownership.

Instead, the Democrats would use state power to achieve things entirely unrelated to their constitutional authorities.

Democrats Don’t Care About You

Make this about MTG being nutty all you want (and that’s what the Democrat-friendly press wants to do here). But on the substance of her criticism, MTG is accurate. Kamala Harris is not interested in protecting your families and your property.

She won’t use the power of the state to uphold her actual constitutional duties. Instead, she will capriciously deploy state power to forcibly disarm millions of law-abiding gun owners while ignoring the overt criminality of her preferred, protected classes.

We don’t need a ban on guns. We need a ban on Left-wing Democratic Party political hacks, like Vice-President Kamala Harris.
