Lauren Boebert Reiterates Call To Impeach Joe Biden Over Pseudonyms – Colorado’s Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has reiterated her call to her fellow GOP lawmakers to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden in response to a recent disclosure by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the conservative nonprofit organization Southeastern Legal Foundation revealed 82,000 pages of emails that the President may have exchanged through pseudonymous accounts. The emails were sent during his first stint in the White House as Vice President under Barack Obama.

It’s not the first time Biden’s use of pseudonyms has been under scrutiny. In August, while Republican lawmakers pushed further on witness testimony as part of their House investigation as to whether the then-Vice President benefitted from his son’s foreign business dealings. The White House has repeatedly denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

That said, many Republicans are convinced otherwise, despite a lack of conclusive evidence for a realistic impeachment. Rep. Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene have largely led the impeachment calls outside of the GOP-led House Oversight Committee.

The scope of the Republican investigation focuses on first son Hunter’s tenure on the board of directors at Burisma, a Ukrainian energy giant. Specifically, conservatives are seeking clarification as to whether the President was more heavily involved in his son’s business dealings than just the use of “the Biden brand”.

Boebert, a MAGA Republican and member of the Freedom Caucus, has previously filed articles of impeachment against Biden for alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors” in relation to illegal immigration at the southern border with Mexico. A majority House vote led to the matter being referred to the Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees, prompting an inquiry and preventing an immediate decision on a formal launch of impeachment proceedings.

After the most recent release of emails sent by Biden under pseudonyms, Boebert reiterated her calls for impeachment. “It’s time to finish what we started and impeach this Commander and Thief,” she wrote on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

Although evidence continues to mount against the President, there has been no definitive proof that Biden benefitted in any way from his son’s business operations while in office. For sure, the optics do not stack in his favor, but the GOP lacks any meaningful evidence to prevent the impeachment being torn to shreds in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

There’s little benefit to an impeachment for the sake of it. House Republicans in Democratic strongholds are unlikely to vote for a bill which could be perceived as politically motivated without evidence, most likely costing them their seats in next year’s election. With at least 18 GOP lawmakers skeptical, Biden’s fiercest conservative critics cannot simply force the issue through with only a five-vote majority.

Whether Biden will be impeached remains to be seen. Evidence continues to mount and pressure is growing, but he only has a year left of his current term, and re-election is by no means guaranteed.
