Hunter Biden: Is the Media Protecting Him?

Why is it that allegations that a Trump met with an alleged spy for a hostile foreign power merits countless stories and that when the person’s name is Biden it’s met with dead silence in mainstream newsrooms?

Mainstream Media Lack of Interest in Hunter Biden Contrasts with Trump Coverage: House investigative committee revelations that Hunter Biden and his family members received payments from a firm with ties to Chinese military intelligence have fallen into a black hole in terms of media coverage. The same outlets that spent years attempting to connect former president Donald Trump and his family to Vladimir Putin and Russian intelligence operations based on spurious information have a sudden lack of interest.

Hostile foreign intelligence services were alleged to have been involved in both cases; however, the media lacks diligence in matters related to China in contrast those connected to Russia

Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability released bank records showing transfers of large amounts of money to accounts belonging to Hunter Biden, James Biden, Rob Walker, and Hallie Biden.

Hunter Biden received at least $500,000 in the spring of 2017. His uncle, James Biden, received $360,000 between Apr. 3, 2017 and May 18, 2017, according to records released by the committee.

Media outlets poured countless stories into whether or not Donald Trump Jr. had met with a former Russian spy. Trump Jr. did not, however, have a business relationship with the spy. Hunter’s ties to potential Chinese spies and his business dealings that could implicate U.S. national security are met with silence.

Hunter Biden’s business partners Ye Jianming, the long missing CEO of CEFC Energy, and Patrick Ho, who were convicted in 2019 of international bribery and money-laundering offenses, each had alleged ties to Chinese military intelligence. Jianming served as deputy secretary general of China Association for International Friendly Contacts (CAIFC), which the U.S.-China Economic Security and Review Commission says “performs dual roles of intelligence collection and conducting propaganda and perception management campaigns.” Hunter Biden identified Ho as “the f***g spy chief of China”; Hunter received a $1 million retainer to represent Ho.

“The Biden-China story matters for several reasons, not least because China is increasingly viewed by both Republicans and Democrats as America’s number one adversary. Our approach to China has never been more important — whether on national security, human rights, trade, the economy or technology.

And on some of these issues, President Biden hasn’t seemed as tough as he needs to be — most recently, appearing on a TikTok video at a time when the social media company is under investigation for its reported ties to the Chinese Communist Party,” Joe Concha, a Fox News contributor wrote in “The Hill.”

TikTok likewise is closely linked with Chinese intelligence.

Concha complained that former President Donald Trump’s legal woes were of greater interest than the financial scandals surrounding the incumbent president, Joe Biden, and his family. ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’s “Face the Nation,” NBC’s “Meet the Press” and CNN’s “State of the Union” each had lengthy segments on the former president. However, these Sunday talk shows blanked on the over $1 million that the Bidens received.
