Are Crimes Being Committed to Protect Hunter Biden?

Tony Shaffer, a retired Army intelligence officer and president of the London Center for Policy Research, told 19FortyFive that the level of corruption, in this case, is without precedent.

The IRS team that had been investigating Hunter Biden’s finances for criminal activities has been reportedly removed from the investigations.

This has some claiming obstruction of justice.

Attorney General Merrick Garland had been publicly stating that he would stay out of the investigation of Hunter Biden’s tax violations being undertaken by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss.

Rumors had been brewing in Washington that the Justice Department likely was getting closer to handing down an indictment of Biden on tax and firearms charges.

The primary investigations by the IRS and the FBI concluded last year that charges should be filed against Biden.

IRS Whistleblower

In April, an IRS supervisory agent came forward with a whistleblower complaint. It indirectly alleged that Garland had lied to Congress when he said no interference would take place. Garland subsequently denied the allegation and reaffirmed the claim.

“Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress. He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice,” the whistleblower’s attorney Mark Lytle and Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt wrote in a letter to congressional leaders.

The head of the IRS similarly claimed that no retaliation would be taken against anyone who would come forward with a complaint during April 27 testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee.

“Mr. Chairman, while I can’t comment on a specific case, I can say without any hesitation there will be no retaliation for anyone making an allegation or a call to a whistleblower hotline,” IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel said.

Lytle and Leavitt noted in their letter that the whistleblower decided to come forward to prevent exactly what they alleged had just taken place with the removal of the investigative team.

“Any attempt by any government official to prevent a federal employee from furnishing information to Congress is also a direct violation of longstanding appropriations restriction.3 Furthermore, 18 U.S.C. § 1505 makes it a crime to obstruct an investigation of Congress,” Lytle and Leavitt wrote.

Announcement Comes on Heels of Committee Report Detailing Network of Biden LLCs

The announcement of the removal came on the heels of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s release of a report detailing the over $10 million taken in by the network of Biden family LLCs managed by Biden and his uncle, James Biden.

The report alleged that extensive efforts were made by the Bidens to conceal the monies they were receiving. The committee alleged that the network of companies had received money from foreign sources.

“These complicated financial transactions appear to conceal the source of the funds and reduce the conspicuousness of the total amounts made into the Biden bank accounts. Chinese nationals and companies with significant ties to Chinese intelligence and the Chinese Communist Party hid the source of the funds by layering domestic limited liability companies,” committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said at last week’s press conference.

Hunter Biden received also received monies from Romanian oligarchs, Kazakh oligarchs, and Mexican oligarchs, and received over $50,000 per month as a board member of the reputedly corrupt Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.

His finances likely will come under even greater scrutiny in the near future as the child-support trial in Arkansas over his request to reduce payments to his daughter Navy Joan Roberts, who he shares with former Washington, D.C. stripper Lunden Roberts.

Tony Shaffer, a retired Army intelligence officer and president of the London Center for Policy Research, told 19FortyFive that the level of corruption, in this case, is without precedent. He alleges that crimes are being committed to protect Hunter Biden from prosecution. He believes damning evidence could emerge that could give significant blowback to President Joe Biden.

“This is beyond obstruction of justice. You are actually using the official mechanism of the government to perpetrate crimes and hide them both,” Shaffer said.
