The Hunter Biden Scandal: Is the Media Hiding It?

The Congressional Oversight Committee released a report this week that demonstrated money was being distributed to multiple members of the Biden family, potentially in exchange for Biden’s influence in favorable policy decisions during his tenure as Vice President.

The Hunter Biden Scandal – Why Isn’t Mainstream Media Covering It? The Congressional Oversight Committee released a report this week that demonstrated money was being distributed to multiple members of the Biden family, potentially in exchange for Biden’s influence in favorable policy decisions during his tenure as Vice President.

Yet, no mainstream media source seems to care about Hunter Biden and what looks like a major scandal. The story is nowhere to be found on either the Washington Post or the New York Times’s home page as of my filing this on May 12. I had to enter “congressional- oversight -report-Biden” into the search bar of both news outlets and even then, the Times pulled up no results.

In fact, they are flat-out lying about it.

Eventually, I found a New York Times story, somewhat buried, that read “House Republican Report Finds No Evidence of Wrongdoing by President Bident.” This is exactly the type of reporting that Tucker Carlson scathingly pointed out in his most recent video on Twitter. News that isn’t exactly a lie, but by omitting significant context or certain details, doesn’t display the full truth either.

The Times is correct to report that no incriminating evidence existed to directly tie President Biden to the shady financial transactions listed in the report. What Congressional Republicans did outline, however, was sufficient proof to justify further investigation.

The confidential report produced by the committee outlined over 170 copies of a SAR – suspicious activity report – demonstrating thousands of banking records, wire transfers, and electronic transactions. These are often routine and trigger government attention from the Treasury Department of larger financial transactions.

Based on the findings, House Republican James Comer from Kentucky, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, issued a subpoena to the FBI requesting the release of materials they believe could prove the President’s involvement in his family’s criminal activity.

The FBI has declined to provide the documents requested. Furthermore, they have refused to inform the Committee of measures taken to investigate the allegations against the President.

Biden Counteracts Claims Against Him

Biden continues to maintain that Republicans have made these charges without evidence. However, Congress has made plenty of such evidence public via a website under the House Oversight Committee dedicated to the Biden family investigation: over 10 million dollars funneled via 20 different business entities through a list of countries including China, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania.

Many of the funds were divided into multiple payments, a way to avoid large transactions from being flagged. While it appears many different members of the Biden family benefited from the overseas dealings, the Committee’s main concern is that such activities constitute a threat to national security.

The homepage of the report quotes Comer:

“Evidence obtained by Committee Republicans reveals Joe Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family’s business schemes. The Biden family business model is built on Joe Biden’s political career and connections with Joe Biden as the ‘chairman of the board.’ Biden family members sold access for profit around the world to the detriment of American interests. If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision making, this is a threat to national security. The American people deserve transparency and accountability about the Biden family’s influence peddling. With the new Republican majority, Oversight Committee Republicans will continue pressing for answers to inform legislative solutions to prevent this abuse of power.”

Democrats Double Standard

All of this gets swept under the rug and meanwhile, Donald Trump is prosecuted for every butt slap and thoughtless digression. It’s not that Trump’s behavior is necessarily excusable. But criminal? More and more, the press is verifying Trump’s claims that the attacks on him for the past six years have been nothing more than a “witch hunt.”

And he’s not even the president anymore. Democrats and the media will do everything they can to make sure he never is again.

Of course, the other side of the aisle makes similar claims. The White House declared the Republican-led investigation to be nothing more than a “political stunt.” The hypocrisy is ripe.

Had the charges come from a Democratic congress against a Republican president, the report would have been splashed all over the front pages of every mainstream media site and offered hours of unintelligible jibberish from hosts such as Sunny Hostin on The View.

Conservative news outlets are repeatedly calling the Oversight Committee’s report a “smoking gun” and rightly so. Usually, where there’s smoke, there’s fire, but it’s one most media outlets would rather put out than investigate.
