When asked a direct question by a Fox News reporter as to whether he ever discussed his son, Hunter Biden’s, allegedly illicit business deals with the First Son, President Joe Biden emphatically said “no.”
These presidential statements come on the heels of a leaked 2017 WhatsApp text conversation between Hunter Biden and Henry Zhao, a director of the Chinese asset management firm, Harvest Fund Management, in which Hunter claims he’s seated next to his father, who wanted to know why Zhao was not fulfilling his end of whatever agreement Hunter had made with Zhao.
In that conversation, Hunter heavily implies that Zhao’s failure to come through for Hunter Biden would result in “the man sitting next to me [Joe Biden] and every person knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will not regret following my direction.”
In essence, using his father’s presence as leverage, Hunter Biden was threatening Zhao with greater levels of retaliation and inconvenience in his quest to do business with the Americans if Zhao failed to give whatever it was (presumably money) that Hunter Biden sought from Zhao.
If what Hunter was saying in the text conversation was true and Joe Biden was, in fact, seated next to Hunter and aware of what the conversation that Hunter was having with Zhao was actually about, then Joe Biden lied about his involvement in Hunter’s business.
House Republicans Must Keep Investigating Hunter
What’s more, it means that the House Republicans are indeed onto something with their probe into Hunter Biden’s allegedly illicit international influence peddling scheme.
The GOP cannot abandon its hunt for the truth about Hunter Biden’s supposedly illegal activities. The text messages with Zhao indicate a much deeper level of involvement between Hunter Biden and his father, the president, in these illicit business dealings.
They show that far from being oblivious to his son’s illicit activities, Joe Biden was at the epicenter of those actions.
This, of course, would make infinitely more sense than the narrative that’s been bandied about that Hunter is just a troubled boy who made bad choices on his own.
Clearly, Hunter was merely a cutout for his father, who might have been using Hunter as an intermediary to keep a degree of plausible deniability between Hunter’s corrupt business and Joe Biden.
But Joe Biden had been in office for decades and his wayward son had supposedly been engaged with these activities for many years. We know that the Biden Family has received direct payments from Hunter Biden’s business—money that came directly from foreign “clients”, notably Chinese state-owned enterprises that Hunter was doing “business” with.
No direct financial linkage has yet been discovered by investigators between Hunter Biden’s activities and Joe Biden’s bank account.
Though, the investigation is ongoing.
Further, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI have both been accused by high-ranking whistleblowers of covering up key evidence from House GOP investigators.
With each day, though, a new bit of evidence trickles out from the veil of secrecy that has been established to protect the Biden Syndicate (because, as they say, the truth will always out).
The Republicans have to keep pressing because there is so much evidence brimming below the surface that the slightest amount of sustained pressure will force it front-and-center.
Not even the “mainstream” media, which has been complicit in the cover-up since the start, will be able to ignore the extent and nature of the alleged Biden Syndicate’s globetrotting illegal business deals.
Biden Admits to Selling State Secrets?
In fact, while meeting with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Biden burbled on about how, “I sold a lot of state secrets, and a lot of very important things that we shared.”
To which, the entire room—including India’s prime minister—burst out laughing. Of course, there was an awkward pause on the faces of everyone at the table before they erupted into laughter.
Perhaps it was a joke. Biden is the king of making completely unfunny jokes that he forces his audience to laugh at uncomfortably simply because they must laugh at those supposed jokes out of respect for his political office.
But former President Donald Trump used to make similar uncomfortable jokes.
Such as that time when he was running for office in 2016 and he mocked the Democratic Party’s inability to secure their computer servers from purported Russian hackers, prompting him to goad the press by saying, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 [Hillary Clinton] emails that are missing.”
The very next day the New York Times actually ran a headline that read, “Trump Invited the Russians to Hack Clinton. Were They Listening?”
This obvious joke, by the way, became one of the foundations of the absurd Democratic Party’s obsession with discovering linkages (that never existed) between Donald Trump and the Russian intelligence services. It became one of the bases for the Robert Mueller witch hunt into the forty-fifth president.
GOP Should Return the Favor to the Democrats
At the very least, the Republicans should treat Biden’s “joke” in the same way that disingenuous Democrats treated Trump’s 2016 joke: as an admission of a crime. They should use that statement against Biden the same way the Left uses Trump’s various off-handed comments as pretexts for launching devastating investigations into the former president (they are still doing this).
Who knows, in the process, the GOP just might find something they can use in their ongoing investigation into purported illegality on the part of Hunter Biden (and his family)?
Even if they don’t, just as with the Robert Mueller investigation that dogged the Trump Administration for the first two years of Trump’s term in office, the Republicans could at least stymie and complicate the Biden Administration’s already strained ability to enact policies inimical to the GOP.
Make them fight for every inch the way they made the Republicans fight from 2016-2020.
Unlike Donald Trump, there is actual corruption with Joe Biden waiting to be found with profoundly negative implications for U.S. national security.
