AOC and Her Reign of Idiocy Continues – Sounding less like a serious congresswoman and more like a Valley Girl, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) wants you to know that the thing most people get wrong about her who’ve never met her before is that she “does her homework.”
Oh really, AOC?
I think we might need those fact-checkers to label that claim disinformation because AOC has a long history, in the words of Fox News contributor, Dr. Nicole Saphier, of having “very wobbly relationship with the facts.”
What homework, precisely, has AOC done?
A Loss of IQ
Earlier this year, the outspoken New York Leftist was brought up on an ethics complaint for having used her official position in government to defame the owner of the “Libs of TikTok” account.
While speaking on the House Floor, AOC wrongly “fact checked” the Libs of TikTok social media figure by claiming that the Philadelphia Children’s Hospital was not, as the Libs of TikTok account had claimed, offering “gender affirming care” to minors.
AOC was easily proven wrong.
As she roamed the halls of Congress, looking for AOC, the Libs of TikTok creator made a video of her bumping into AOC—and AOC proceeded to defame the Libs of TikTok creator yet again by calling her a bigot. Absolutely nothing that AOC said about the Libs of TikTok creator is backed up by the facts.
Ben Shapiro is known for telling his Liberal rivals that, “facts don’t care about your feelings.” AOC routinely tells her audiences that she simply doesn’t care about facts at all. Hence, an actual ethics complaint being effectively made against her as a member of the United States House of Representatives. There was a time, not long ago, when such an outcome would prompt a member of Congress to hang their head in shame.
Not AOC, though! She just doubles-down on lying and exaggerating to prove her ideological points.
Meanwhile, AOC earlier this year also defamed most American parents (AOC, of course, is a childless woman but presumes to know what is best for children, like all Marxists) when she claimed that they were fascists for trying to ban books that were sexually explicit and racially inappropriate.
Contrary to AOC’s claims, the books in question were radical literature that aimed not to inform or educate children but to indoctrinate them in the most extreme ethos of Leftist sexual and racial politics.
Remember the time when AOC ran around supporting the “Green New Deal” and sent out multiple falsehoods—even about her own side?
Back then, AOC was lobbying hard against carbon capture technology.
Trying to sound like she was anything more than a subpar bartender who was the greatest beneficiary of Affirmative Action in the last decade, AOC proceeded to tell audiences that the carbon capture technology that her own party thinks is revolutionary is “not viable.”
She’s Not Even a Good Environmentalist
As I noted back then that claim was a blatantly false statement.
Just before AOC became a champion for a “Green New Deal” that did not include carbon capture technology, the researchers at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia developed a new technique for viable carbon capture that many leading Green technology investors were interested in.
Using a liquid metal electrolysis method, the RMIT team “effectively [converted] CO2 from a gas into solid particles of carbon.” This technique, according to the researchers who did a writeup of their discoveries for the scientific publication, Nature Communications, their carbon capture method “offers an alternative pathway for safely and permanently removing CO2 from the atmosphere.”
The reason that CO2 capture is such an important process in the ideology of the Green Movement is because carbon pollution is believed to be a leading culprit of Climate Change. Human industry, it is believed, spews an excess of carbon into the atmosphere, forcing about unwanted and unintended changes to the environment which, in turn, creates the climate crisis everyone on the Left thinks we’re blundering toward.
I wrote at the time, “AOC isn’t even a good environmentalist.”
But these actual facts—that would have been uncovered had AOC actually done her homework—being widely available to the public didn’t stop AOC from making a completely inaccurate claim.
What’s more, AOC’s support for the Green New Deal itself was ridiculous.
She outright lied and misrepresented the actual cost of the proposed government program aimed at supposedly curbing manmade climate change. According to AOC, the bill would cost $1 trillion over the next decade, if enacted.
Actual economists, meanwhile, have assessed that the real cost for AOC’s “Green New Deal” over a decade could be an astounding $92.9 trillion! By the way, that’s more than the entire gross domestic product (GDP) of the global economy.
And what does the very stable genius say to that?
In her incredibly shrinking mind, AOC believes that the “scale and scope of the climate crisis is even bigger” than any perceived costs that the bean counters are attributing to her Green New Deal.
Whatever happened to “trust the science”, AOC? Because economists—scientists who study the economy—think AOC is insane for supporting such an irresponsible and impractical program.
For the record: whatever costs the Climate Crisis may burden humanity with are miniscule next to the possible $92.9 trillion price tag associated with AOC’s green boondoggle (it should be called the “Red New Deal”).
An Idiot’s Delight
There’s seriously nothing that AOC says that indicates she is well-read or even mildly prepared for the issues she’s trying—and failing—to address. Dr. Saphier is correct when she labels AOC an “influencer.” Because that’s what AOC really is. She’s a glorified TikTok influencer for Leftist causes, who just happens to be an elected member of Congress.
Just look at the legislative record of AOC.
The New York congresswoman is good at making a lot of noise and getting television interviews or clicks on social media. In fact, though, AOC was dubbed in 2021 as one of the “least effective members of Congress.” This pattern remains as true in 2023 as it was two years ago when that initial report was made.
What AOC truly is good at is being a showman of the utmost quality. But she’s also a ditz. And totally committed to radical Leftist causes with which few Americans support.
On second thought, maybe it’s a blessing for our ailing republic that AOC is mostly flash and little substance. Because if she was ever able to marry her insane politics and high profile with effective legislating abilities, the country would be in serious trouble.
For now, we must endure her public outbursts of painful ignorance. The one thing that AOC does not do is any homework whatsoever. And that reality is reflected in her abysmal legislative record and commitment to loony causes.
