Chris Christie Says Donald Trump Is ‘Sick To His Stomach’ – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Donald Trump is “sick to his stomach” after a witness in the classified documents case made a deal with federal prosecutors.

Mar-a-Lago IT technician Yuscil Tavaras agreed to work with prosecutors under Special Counsel Jack Smith to testify in order to avoid prosecution.

Former president Trump was indicted earlier this year in relation to the case, in which he is accused of illegally storing classified documents from his tenure in office at his Florida home, along with obstructing efforts by federal enforcement officers to retrieve them.

A trial date is set for May 20, 2024.

Chris Christie’s Comments on Donald Trump

The Republican outsider was asked by CNN’s Dana Bash as to how former president Trump “might be feeling” about the news, to which Christie replied that the Tavaras “will be vilified, attacked and savaged by Donald Trump publicly.”

“And then secondly, Donald Trump will lay in his bed at night staring up at the ceiling trying to remember every conversation he ever had with this guy while he’s sick to his stomach,” Christie said. “This is what the Republican Party is facing: drip, drip, drip on the guy who’s the frontrunner, which is why he cannot be the nominee.”

The former New Jersey governor has been one of Trump’s most vocal critics.

It’s a strategy that seems to have resonated with very few Republicans, however, with Christie polling in the low single figures.

On the contrary, former president Trump maintains support from more than half of party members.

Nevertheless, Christie’s held firm on his anti-Trump stance, having previously criticized the 77-year-old’s treatment of former allies. “I stood on the stage in 2016 and heard Donald Trump say he would only hire the very, very best people, and he would know how to manage them,” Christie told CNN earlier this year before listing out Trump’s treatment of former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and other officials.

“If you believe what he said when they left, that means he didn’t pick the very best people and doesn’t know how to pick personnel. If you believe about what he said at the beginning, the great stuff, then this guy is the worst manager in the history of the American presidency,” he added.

Trump has not bit his tongue when it comes to retaliation against Christie. Earlier this week, Trump called his rival a “slob” and a “crazed lunatic” who “couldn’t run for dog catcher” in an interview with Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.

In response to Christie’s latest remarks, Trump’s campaign spokesman Steven Cheung called Christie a “stone cold loser” in a statement to USA TODAY, accusing the former New Jersey governor of seeking “a contributor contract whenever his joke of a campaign ends up in flames.”
