Following President Joe Biden’s controversial speech on Thursday night, in which he accused half of the country of wanting to overthrow democracy, former President Donald Trump painted a picture of an “insane” president who shouldn’t be allowed in the White House.

“If you look at the words and meaning of the awkward and angry Biden speech tonight, he threatened America, including with the possible use of military force,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “He must be insane, or suffering from late stage dementia!”

Trump also hit back at Biden’s efforts to paint “MAGA” as a negative concept.

“Someone should explain to Joe Biden, slowly but passionately, that MAGA means, as powerfully as mere words can get, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” former President Trump said.

“If he doesn’t want to Make America Great Again, which through words, action, and thought, he doesn’t, then he certainly should not be representing the United States of America!”

Media Backs Biden

Incredibly, after Biden baselessly claimed Republicans endorse violence and accused half of the country of wanting to overthrow democracy, the media even came to Biden’s defense over Trump’s comments.

“Trump baselessly attacks Biden” the Independent writes.

“Former President Donald Trump bizarrely claimed that President Joe Biden’s forceful rebuke of ‘MAGA Republicans’ on Thursday was a threat to use military force,” Salon writes.

Baselessly? Bizarrely?

After calling “MAGA Republicans” a threat in his divisive speech to the nation on Thursday night, President Joe Biden claimed on Friday that he does not, in fact, believe a single Trump voter is a threat to the country.”

“I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat,” Biden said to reporters. “When people voted for Donald Trump, they weren’t voting for attacking the Capitol. They weren’t voting for overruling an election.”

What Biden said is correct, but it’s also true that former President Donald Trump never advocated an attack on the Capitol building – nor did he advocate the simple “overruling” of an election for no reason. Former President Donald Trump’s argument is that the election was wrought with irregularities and misconduct. And Trump voters will likely back him again if he runs again in 2024.

Biden seems to have forgotten what his speech was all about last night.

As for Salon’s claim that Trump’s comments were “bizarre,” the evidence doesn’t support that either.

President Joe Biden repeatedly called Trump voters threats to democracy throughout his speech on Thursday night. At the same time, the White House press secretary tells reporters that the United States military’s role is “defending democracy.”

Combined with President Joe Biden’s mocking comments about American gun owners having no way to defend themselves against F-15s, it’s pretty clear the White House wants Republicans to know the government is against them.
