Biden Might Have Made His Biggest Mistake Yet

House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer called on Biden to correct the record and his denial on in a letter sent to Jean-Pierre Tuesday. Comer’s letter to Jean-Pierre detailed every transaction made to Biden family accounts between Mar. 6, 2017 and May 18, 2017.

Republicans released financial records back in March showing that members of President Joe Biden’s family received money from a Chinese energy firm with close ties to China’s military intelligence.

And that news, to this day, continues to haunt the Bidens.

Follow the Biden Money

“After the Chinese company wired Robinson Walker, LLC the $3 million, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,692 over a three-month period in different bank accounts,” the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability said at the time.

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for comment when this broke, wondering if she had anything to say about the bank records that showed the president’s family members received over $1 million from HK Energy Limited.

Doocy asked for what they had been paid for. Last week President Joe Biden denied that his son Hunter, brother James, and daughter-in-law Hallie had pocketed the money, saying it was not true.

Bank records subpoenaed by the committee disclosed two payments totaling $35,000 to Hallie Biden. James Biden received $360,000 between Apr. 3, 2017 and May 18, 2017.

“Look, I’m just not going to respond to that from here. Look, we have heard from House Republicans for years and years and years how — the inaccuracies and lies when it comes to this issue. And, I don’t even where to begin to even answer that question because, again, it’s been lies and lies and inaccuracy for the past couple of years and I’m just not going to get into it from here,” Jean-Pierre said back in March.

CNN anchor Erin Burnett said on air at the time that the payments did not look good for the Biden family from a layperson’s perspective.

“The Committee is concerned about the information revealed in these bank records, including: (1) why the Chinese energy company waited less than two months after Vice President Biden left public office to send the $3 million wire; (2) why the Robinson Walker, LLC account received the China company’s payment instead of the Biden family members’ companies; (3) why the payments to the Biden family members were structured in incremental payments to different bank accounts; (4) what services the Biden family members provided to the China company and when those purported services were provided; (5) why Hallie Biden—publicly reported to work as a school counselor—received money from Robinson Walker, LLC; 2 and (6) who the account holder is for the bank account entitled ‘Biden,’” the committee asked in last week’s memorandum.

Jean-Pierre’s comments were panned on Twitter at the time. Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy denounced her comment as “gaslighting,” noting that Hunter Biden’s lawyers had acknowledged that the payments had taken place.

“Shes lying and the press knows that she is lying to them,” Ahmed Al Assliken said.

Fox News contributor Guy Benson responded at the time by arguing that reporters should hold Jean-Pierre’s feet to the fire and challenge her to explain what lies she was referring to.

“She went on to justify her non-answer by citing ‘years and years’ of ‘lies’ from Republicans — but her boss has told documented lies on this very subject. No response on the bank records is unacceptable. It’s a legitimate question, and if it’s just a new ‘lie,’ prove it,” Benson wrote on Twitter.

“The American people deserve honest and transparent answers from President Biden related to his family’s questionable foreign business deals. The Committee requests that you, as President Biden’s Press Secretary, correct his March 17, 2023, statement that the evidence from the bank records is “not true” or explain, in detail, which financial transactions in the chart below that he is disputing,” Comer wrote.
