Exclusive: Laura Ingraham Has ‘Inside Track’ To Replace Tucker Carlson at 8 pm on Fox News

Two Fox News staffers told 19FortyFive that 10 pm host Laura Ingraham had the ‘inside track’ to replace Tucker Carlson at 8 pm.

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden made it official, so there is no more asking, “Will Biden seek re-election,” while anyone pondering if he’d ditch Vice President Kamala Harris has gotten their answer. Harris is on the ticket

But perhaps, the answers to those questions were all but given – so the real question of the day is, “Who is going to replace Tucker Carlson on Fox News at 8 pm?”

For now, Fox News Tonight will air as an interim show helmed by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.

Given that 8 pm anchors the prime time, it is unclear whether the network will waste much time finding a new host or show for the hour.

In fact, Fox might already have a replacement in mind: Laura Ingraham.

Laura Ingraham Has the ‘Inside Track’ to Replace Tucker Carlson at 8 pm?

According to two sources with the cable news network that spoke to 19FortyFive, Laura Ingraham has the inside track to replace Carlson at 8 pm.

While nothing is definitive right now, according to those sources, she is viewed as the best choice at the moment.

What happens now is not clear, however, this could mean her current program, The Ingraham Angle, is moved from its current 10 pm ET timeslot to 8 pm.

That could be the safe bet as she has a built-in audience, but it would still mean filling the 10 pm slot – also a significant ratings juggernaut.

Other Changes Coming to Fox News?

While Ingraham seems, at least for now, the leading candidate to fill 8 pm, there are other options.

Sean Hannity could also make a move into the prime 8 pm slot and would be a major contender for the spot, although he seems very comfortable at 9 pm.

It is also possible that Jessie Watters could relocate from 7 pm to 8 pm – with an hour of news coming after Special Report with Brett Baier.

A long shot would be to move the popular 6 pm news program to 7 pm and move around more talent and shows. There is always also the possibility that Shannon Bream, who has filled in for Baier and is now the host of Fox News Sunday, could get the 7 pm or 10 pm slot in such a shuffle of in-house talent and make more moves.

Regardless, for now, according to sources at Fox, Laura Ingraham is in the top position to be the face of Fox News nighttime opinion – but it is certainly not a done deal.

I guess we will have to stay tuned and see what happens.
