While giving another unhinged rant about the evils of private gun ownership in the United States (even as his own son, Hunter Biden, stands accused of having been in possession of an illegal firearm), President Joe Biden decided to sign off his speech with the bizarre “God save the queen!” quip.
It isn’t the first time the forty-sixth president has ended a public statement with a slurred non-sequitur.
God Save the Queen?
In fact, just after he declared Donald J. Trump the winner of the 2016 Presidential Election during the certification process, then-Vice-President Joe Biden ended his statement with “God save the queen!”
Americans are told to simply embrace the weirdness of Joe Biden. Ignore the creepy handsiness of the commander-in-chief when women and children are nearby. Chock the bizarre statements up to a childhood stutter that the president supposedly overcame decades ago. We are ordered by our political betters that any questioning of Joe Biden’s competence makes us ageist, sexist, homophobic, and neo-fascist…so keep your mouths shut, eyes fixed forward, and don’t you dare ask any questions!
Some of us, like myself, welcome the controversy of being the guy to point out that the emperor does not, in fact, have clothes.
If this were a one-off statement that’d be different. But Biden’s comments—going back years—transcend the occasional misstatement or a joke that simply falls flat. Instead, there is a dangerous (and increasing) pattern of not just verbal incontinence but outright confusion.
Did Joe Biden think he was in Britain? Did he not recall the Queen of England’s recent death?
There is something very wrong here. What does an anti-gun speech in Connecticut have to do with the dead queen of England?
I realize this may sound petty, but it’s not.
The Emperor Has No Clothes
For years, questions about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline have abounded. These concerns have not only been raised by Republicans. Many ordinary Americans are worried that the forty-sixth president may be cognitively impaired. The man is 80 years old. If he gets a second term, he’ll be an astonishing 86, if he can finish out those four years in office.
Even among the wealthiest Americans who enjoy exclusive access to the best healthcare in the world, there are limits to that which modern medicine can do in terms of preventing age-related illnesses from taking hold.
We’ve no idea what Joe Biden’s family medical history is. His doctors officially state that the forty-sixth president is in excellent shape—for an octogenarian.
But what octogenarians hold the most powerful office in the world, the US presidency?
Biden’s public schedule indicates a shockingly short workday. The New York Post recently estimated that President Biden works just 30 hours a week.
That’s a part-time presidency.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden appears to be unable to physically move with the kind of ease and vibrancy that previous presidents have—and are required to move with. Add Biden’s bizarre penchant for appearing confused whilst stammering through barely intelligible speeches and there is real cause for concern.
Consider this: last year, during an interview with a major news broadcast, President Biden seemed to make a dramatic shift in U.S. foreign policy toward China and Taiwan.
In that interview, he explicitly stated that his administration would defend Taiwan against a Chinese invasion—even if that invasion was precipitated by a Taiwanese official declaration of independence from the mainland (what many experts believe would be a casus belli for China).
Within a day of that interview being aired, the Biden Administration was forced to walk those explicit comments back and pretend as though the forty-sixth president never said anything of the sort.
Humiliation is Key
Just this last weekend, while in Beijing, Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a humiliating meeting with the Chinese leadership which resulted in him making a public speech that basically negated what his boss, President Biden, had said a year earlier in that interview about protecting Taiwan from a Chinese invasion or attack.
Thus, not even the rest of Biden’s own administration takes what he says to heart. In a normal administration, a presidential statement—even an off-handed one during a free-flowing interview—of the kind that Joe Biden had made about U.S. policy toward Taiwan would have resulted in a major internal discussion among the various leaders within that presidential administration.
No such internal dialog on the matter occurred. What happened was a simple press release effectively undermining what the commander-in-chief had said.
So much for the imperial presidency, eh?
Of course, as my friend and publisher, Roger Kimball wrote recently: we are not living in an ordinary political moment. On the contrary. Everything about our political circumstances here in the United States at least since the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged our society is abnormal.
And Joe Biden is certainly not a normal president. Far from it. He is little more than a sock puppet for his radical Left-wing handlers—including former President Barack Obama and First Lady Jill Biden—who are accountable to no one and have a freehand to impose their most radical policies on the country with little pushback from inside the White House.
That’s why Biden’s silly “God save the queen” comment matters. He doesn’t even know where he is, who he’s speaking to, or that the person he’s referencing is dead.
Biden the Incompetent
The man is cognitively impaired. He can barely walk without falling. Biden is the butt of all jokes in Europe and elsewhere (I have family in Europe who are by no means Right-wing ideologues and they’re saying that no one in Europe really respects Biden).
Usually this would have some bearing. But it doesn’t. Because Biden is the delusional emperor with no clothes. And none of his courtiers want to admonish him for being naked because to do so would reduce their power in his royal court.
It’s time that every American starts calling out Biden, the man who supposedly has the nuclear codes, for being totally incompetent before something truly bad happens that endangers us all.
