Lauren Boebert Sued for Defending Herself Against Prostitution Claims – A political activist sued Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert for defamation on June 8, alleging that the firebrand legislators lied about him during an appearance on The Sean Hannity Show in 2022.

The Lauren Boebert Lawsuit

David Wheeler, the man who filed the suit against Boebert, heads up the American Muckrackers Political Action Committee – a non-profit group that claims to be “dedicated solely to firing terrible candidates with information from anonymous sources.”

Wheeler, who made a number of allegations about Boebert’s personal life, claims that the politician lied about both him and his organization when denying claims made by his group.

Specifically, Wheeler accused Boebert of using meth, having two abortions, and worked as a prostitute.

The lawsuit alleges that when defending herself on Hannity’s show, Boebert “admitted” that her motivation was to “thwart Plaintiff’s first amendment rights to public participation in matters of public concern.”

Boebert was quoted as saying, “We’re going to make sure this political hack never has the opportunity to do this to anyone else again.”

Wheeler’s organization claims that a whistleblower who worked at Boebert’s former “Shooter’s Grill” restaurant reached out and made the claims, allegedly proving that the Republican legislator had engaged in illegal activity.

The legal filing claims that in response to allegations of working as an escort, aborting two pregnancies, and using illegal drugs, Boebert “went on the offensive by threatening litigation and making the news-story about Plaintiff’s character, funding, and alleged mendacity.”

Wheeler claims that, in defending herself against the claims, Boebert both damaged his reputation and infringed on his First Amendment rights. The plaintiff must now prove that Boebert, in her capacity as a single legislator, had the capacity to infringe on rights granted to him by the United States Constitution.

Skeptics might say that Wheeler’s legal efforts are unlikely to go anywhere and may serve primarily as a way of fending off allegations that he and his organization are making baseless claims themselves. It remains to be seen, however, whether Wheeler is willing to hand over evidence that the claims made against Boebert are true during a court trial – if the suit gets that far – and whether he is capable of proving that Boebert deliberately defamed him during media interviews on the topic.

The suit requests that Boebert pay Wheeler damages and retract her allegedly defamatory statements.
