Some Democrats Want Joe Biden to Dump Kamala Harris

Not all Democrats are thrilled with the idea of another four years of having Vice President Kamala Harris.

Not all Democrats are thrilled with the idea of another four years of having Vice President Kamala Harris.

A recent Suffolk University/ABC News poll found that 86% of Democrats say they would be comfortable with Vice President Kamala Harris serving a second term alongside President Joe Biden.

“I would like to mention another risk to avoid. Considering President Joe Biden’s age, I believe the choice of vice president will be of unusual importance to the voters. Vice President Kamala Harris seems like a nice, intelligent person, but I, for one, know little about her wisdom and capacity for leadership,” Baltimore Sun reader  Eritha Yardley wrote. “I hope the Democrats work hard to find the most appropriate candidate to take on that role.”

Translation: some Democrats might not be thrilled with Harris and prefer someone else.

Clearly Kamala Harris has done a lousy job presenting herself to the American public.

Kamala Harris Frequently Sounds Incoherent

Kamala Harris frequently speaks incoherently or laughs uncontrollably – many times when she is looking stressed or get a tough question. Sometimes pundits and experts make comments in jest she might be intoxicated in some way.

“I think Kamala Harris is stoned 100% of the time,” a Twitter user wrote following her appearance at a Juneteenth commemoration.

The vice president laughed uncontrollably at the event.

They weren’t alone.

“Kamala you smoke too much weed. You’re stoned all the time. Everyone knows. It’s so obvious. Try giving a speech without hitting the bong first,” another tweeter named Kevin Morrow wrote.

Or her delivery has been muddled to the point she has been mocked.

Putting a Bad Foot Forward

Kamala Harris has faced tough media criticism.

“For context, the last Democratic vice president, the man who happens to currently be Harris’s boss, Joe Biden, had a considerably better unfavorable rating at the end of the first Obama administration. 41% of Americans disapproved of Biden as VP at the time. So a big gap there between the 41% and the 56% disapproval rating Kamala Harris currently has,” Meghna Chakrabarti said Monday on her show on WBUR Boston.

“And the reports are that Democrats are whispering nervously about Biden’s presidential reelection bid, both because of his age and because of his VP. One exception, though, is Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips.”

Other Democrats caution that Harris could be a liability.

“Democrats are campaigning for Biden with the ultimate hope that Biden will continue to be healthy and last through the four years,” Hank Sheinkopf, a former Democratic consultant for the Clinton-Gore Campaign, told Fox News. “She is on their mind, but the first thing on their mind is how do they make sure Joe Biden gets re-elected against anyone, whether it’s Trump or any other candidate.

“‘Can she do the job?’ will be the question that people are going to be asking, and it’s not clear that she can, and they’re going to have to demonstrate that if they want to hold on to that electorate,” he added. “Democrats like her, Republicans don’t.”
