Prominent Fox Business commentator Stuart Varney believes President Joe Biden is not “electable,” arguing that the Biden-Harris ticket has “loser written all over it” during Friday’s “Varney & Co.” broadcast.
Biden and Kamala Harris are the frontrunners in the Democratic primary polls, leading vocal critic Robert F. Kennedy by more than 50 points among party voters. Despite a lack of confidence in the President’s leadership, Democrats largely show no sign of breaking centuries-long tradition of electing the incumbent president as the party nominee.
However, conservative analyst Varney – who in 2019 said then-President Donald Trump had never lied to the American public despite evidence to the contrary – believes the Democrats are “anxious” over a Biden campaign in 2024.
What Did Varney Say About Joe Biden?
Varney attributed a number of factors as part of his claim, including Biden’s age, health and wellbeing, as well as Kamala Harris’ consistent unpopularity. “I don’t think Joe Biden is electable. I don’t care what the polls say,” he said on Friday. “If it’s a Biden-Harris ticket next year, they will lose. I don’t think it will get that far.”
“Almost on a daily basis, Democrats maneuver to get him out before the end of the year. I’ve never seen anything like this.”
“Podcast king Joe Rogan thinks Democrats are leaking the bad news on Hunter because they see it as a way to get his dad out of the Oval Office. Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me, but Rogan has 12 million listeners every day.”
While prominent Democrats have said that “nobody’s above the law” in relation to Hunter Biden, the party has been largely united against the impeachment proceedings being probed at by Republicans.
On the contrary, GOP frontrunner Trump’s opponents have repeatedly criticized his actions which led to four indictments, with his former vice president Mike Pence even stating that he should “never be president.”
Nevertheless, Varney referenced Minnesota Democrat Dean Philips’ “very public campaign” to ask the president to step aside, adding that “Democrats are unwilling to face the truth” over Biden’s reelection possibilities.
He also highlighted a Los Angeles Times article calling for the Democrats to remove the unpopular Kamala Harris off the ticket by moving her to the Senate seat currently occupied by Dianne Feinstein.
Biden’s Health and Policies
Varney continued to mention the “desperation” felt by Democrats to change the likely presidential nomination, referencing Biden’s health in the process. “The president’s cognitive decline seems to be speeding up and we can all see it,” he said. “He takes long vacations, calls an early lid very frequently, and sometimes just doesn’t seem to be there.”
Claiming that more than half of voters believe Bidenomics had made things worse, Varney added: “The Democrats are anxious because the Biden-Harris ticket has loser written all over it. There’s none so anxious as a political party heading for defeat.”
“Think of it this way. How many voters will go for a candidate already struggling mentally and physically? Keep him in the White House until he’s 86, with a vice president who carries an even lower approval rating? It’s not going to happen. The Biden-Harris ticket is not electable, and the Democrats know it.”
