Writing for right-leaning outlet The Washington Free Beacon, Drew Holden honed in on some of the mainstream media’s apparent approval of Kamala Harris’ successive attempt to switch up her public profile.

It comes as the Vice President is working to dramatically reshape her public image as she gears up for the 2024 campaign.

For a VP who has consistently polled poorly since her arrival in office, this will be a tough gig.

Holden argues that there is “a concerted effort underway to ensure that she not only has the support she needs from the White House but that the broader public can see the side of her that—they believe—has been overshadowed by the toxic elements of D.C. To that end, her aides are trying to remind the public of that person, in part by inviting reporters to witness her behind the scenes.”

The Kamala Harris Reboot?

This week this took the form of a 2000-word Politico interview, titled “‘I Can’t Get Into People’s Heads’: Kamala Harris Tries to Reshape Her Public Image Ahead of 2024”.

Her team is alleged to be emphasizing her roles in key policy areas such as abortion rights, gun violence, climate change, and civil rights.

They are particularly targeting people of color, especially Black voters, young people, and women as her key constituencies.

Holden also cites a string of New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Vanity Fair and other media outlets running positive headlines about her plans ahead of 2024, despite her unpopularity with the public.

Holden also claim Harris’ “cringeworthy public appearances and damning leaks from her team” mean, “the media have been anticipating her vice presidential comeback since at least early last year.”

An Impossible Task for Kamala Harris?

Fox Host Tomi Lahren also remarked on Harris’ alleged rebrand plans, suggesting they came far too late to turn around her fortunes.

Echoing Holden’s remarks she noted: “I feel like every six months we get some kind of a puff piece story about how Kamala Harris is being rebranded. I don’t know how you rebrand that.

“She sounds the exact same every time we hear her speak. Regardless of the topic, it never comes out, you know, as a complete thought. And she really just takes the words of what she’s talking about, like the subject title, and she just mixes them around and calls that a speech.

“So I don’t know how you’re going to rebrand Kamala, but best of luck to them. I don’t know if they’re looking at Joe and thinking, oh, boy, you know, this is going downhill. We better get her ready.”

Negative Vibes

Recent Rasmussen polling indicates that Kamala Harris’s popularity among voters remains in murky waters.

The poll revealed that only 42% hold a favorable view of the vice president, while a more significant 53% have an unfavorable opinion.

Negative vibes even followed Kamala Harris into a big event where she was heckled in deep blue Martha’s Vineyard.
