Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley branded Vice President Kamala Harris as a “failure” during an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.
Haley – previously Gov. of South Carolina and ambassador to the United Nations – launched her latest attack on Harris during the broadcast. A regular critic of the Vice President, Haley has so far run a campaign urging voters to avoid “President Kamala Harris” should Joe Biden be unable to complete a full second term.
Her interview on Fox came after she was accused of racism in order to swing voters towards her campaign by writer Jemele Hill. On X, the site formerly known as Twitter, Hill accused the Republican candidate of attempting to “rally a certain base” after she stated that a “vote for Joe Biden is a vote for President Kamala Harris.”
Haley featured an image with additional comments, claiming that “everyone in America can see Joe Biden’s decline and have concerns about his ability to serve a second term. They know a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris. The media needs to stop protecting Biden and tell America the truth.”
Kamala Harris On the Hot Seat
The only female Republican candidate at last month’s debate in Milwaukee responded to Hill’s criticism after another jibe at the Vice President. “Everything [Harris] has ever been given, she has failed at,” she told Fox. “That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact.”
When questioned on Hill’s public criticism, Haley replied that the comments were off base. “She is saying that to a minority female that’s running for president. This has nothing to do with Kamala’s gender or Kamala’s race,” Haley said. “This has everything to do with Kamala’s incompetence. That’s what this is about. Every American knows that if Kamala Harris becomes president, we are in serious trouble of losing our country.”
After Haley stressed that was “not an opinion” but a fact, she went on to slam Harris’ record as vice president. “Show us what she’s done on the border. Show us what she’s done with artificial intelligence, show us what she’s done to improve this administration’s standings on freedom, or the economy, or inflation, or the border, or national security,” Haley continued. “There is just not anything there.”
Haley’s campaign has been notably centered on the possibility of Harris assuming the presidency. Should he win a second term, Biden will be 86 by the time he leaves the White House in 2029. However, if he is unable to fulfill his presidential duties, Harris will take the role without the need for a presidential election.
“We’re going to call it like we see it,” Haley added on Fox. “A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris. And the thought of a president Kamala Harris should send a chill up every American’s spine and I refuse to let that happen, and that’s why we are focused on winning.”
