Donald Trump Was Just Hit with a ‘Total Shock’

The Biden campaign took its push onto Donald Trump’s home turf, Truth Social. President Joe Biden established a presence on his predecessor’s own social media platform. The BidenHarrisHQ account had 28,300 followers after going live on Monday. It had 30,400 as of Thursday. The account features a Dark Brandon image that shows Biden with glowing red eyes with the moniker, “Malarkey Ends Here.”

“After just two days, the Biden campaign already has more followers than the Trump campaign on Truth Social,” Parker Butler, director of digital rapid response for Biden-Harris HQ, wrote on X.

By contrast, the TeamTrump account, established in February 2022, had 23,800 followers. The Biden campaign announced its decision to join Truth Social in a post on X.

Biden Joined Truth Social to Ridicule Trump

“We just joined Truth Social, mostly because we thought it would be very funny,” Biden-Harris HQ, the campaign’s digital rapid response team, posted on X.

The Biden campaign made fun of Truth Social, saying that very little happens on the platform besides Donald Trump’s rants.

“There’s very little ‘truth’ happening on Truth Social, but at least now it’ll be a little fun,” the aide told Newsweek.

The post included a link that said, “Follow us there for truths and retruths or whatever they call them.”

It made fun of prospective House Speaker Jim Jordan and his inability to win more than 200 votes.

Truth Social has been Trump’s primary social media account since February 2022. X owner Elon Musk reinstated Trump’s account, which had been his main social media account until the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, but the former president has only chosen to use it once. Twitter justified its decision to expel Trump from its platform “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

The former president’s personal account on Truth Social has over 6.45 million followers.

The first Biden campaign post on X said, “’Well. Let’s see how this goes. Converts welcome!’ and the account description says: ‘Just the facts, Jack. A project of Biden-Harris 2024.’”

Trump Uses Platform to Complain

Trump has used Truth Social as a platform for lashing out at Special Counsel Jack Smith, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley and those involved in prosecuting him.

Occupy Democrats celebrated Biden’s entry onto Truth Social in a post on X.

“BREAKING: President Biden humiliates Donald Trump on his own website as the Biden campaign amasses more followers on Truth Social than the Trump campaign in just two days. This is EXACTLY the kind of petty thing that drives the infamously thin-skinned Trump into a frothing rage,” Occupy Democrats wrote. “Biden joined Truth Social in the hopes of injecting some actually truth into a cesspit of lies and propaganda. Already, his campaign has blown past 22.7k followers compared to the Trump Team’s 19.2k. What do you think the odds are that Trump has the Biden campaign account deleted out of spite?”
