Joe Biden Wants to Build the Border Wall—And He’ll Destroy Mother Earth to Do It

In fact, President Biden is in such a hurry to build that wall that he’s willing to override a bevy of environmental laws and ignore key concerns over infringing upon cultural sensitivities.

In a stunning turn of events, President Joe Biden now wants to build portions of the controversial wall. Biden claims to have run for president in 2020 because his predecessor, Donald Trump, was such an irredeemable racist. This week the Biden Administration announced plans to build a wall along our open southwestern border.

In fact, President Biden is in such a hurry to build that wall that he’s willing to override a bevy of environmental laws and ignore key concerns over infringing upon cultural sensitivities.

My, my, are we a long way away from calling Trump’s immigration plans in 2019 “racist invectives!”

Acute and Immediate

Of course, Biden is going to find himself in a real bind. It’s going to take considerable time to source the massive project, even with Biden ignoring all the environmental protocols that would normally stymie such a project.

After all, two years ago, President Biden hastily ordered all the materials that the Trump Administration had pre-positioned at border wall construction sites to have been sold off—at a loss to the taxpayers, of course—and dismantled whatever had been constructed there.

Does anyone seriously believe that Biden’s border wall will be built—from scratch—in enough time for it to make any difference? Or that the fanatics in the Democratic Party will ever allow anything meaningful to be done in terms of a border wall after they spent the last 20 years resisting any kind of physical barrier along the southwestern border?

Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has clarified what it wants to do. The Biden Administration doesn’t actually want to secure the border at all. They are fixating on one, tiny area of the southwestern border. Specifically, DHS believes that the situation in Starr County, Tex., is “acute and immediate.”

But without a larger, longer-term plan of expanding the border wall (500 miles of which began under Trump), the problem of illegal immigration will not be remedied.

Biden’s “Build Back Better” Wall

What Biden is proposing is a stopgap and not a very good one at that.

So, what gives?

Biden is not at all committed to resolving the illegal immigration crisis. He just wants to be seen as resolving it. The forty-sixth president is also trying to keep his fellow Democrats in charge of Sanctuary Cities, like New York, placated, as border states, such as Texas, send illegal immigrants from their states to New York by the busload.

Even the very Liberal enclave of New York City is revolting against the Biden Administration’s lax border security policies, as demonstrated by Democratic Party New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ caustic statements about losing the Big Apple forever to illegal immigration.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), himself faced with an impossible invasion of illegal immigrants, has started shipping busloads of illegal immigrants to Liberal cities to show the proponents of illegal immigration the kind of damage these policies do to border states.

After just a few months of having been made to endure limited amounts of illegal immigration into their city, mostly Democratic Party voters in New York City are downright vicious toward the illegal immigrants being housed throughout the city. New Yorkers are demanding an end to the influx of illegals, too.

It is likely that Biden’s targeted border wall in Texas is designed to get Gov. Abbott off his back, and the backs of other elected Democrats. Biden might believe that if he can help Texas specifically reduce some of the illegal immigration into the Lone Star State, it’d lead to the ending of Texas’ program of shipping illegals to Blue States and cities.

That, in turn, would take negative media both off Biden and the Democrats, as well as prevent even Democrats from turning on illegal immigration (support for which has become almost a religious commandment for the DNC).

The bottom line: Biden’s sudden reversals—however limited and impractical—on illegal immigration policies implicitly prove that his much-maligned predecessor was correct.

For his part, Trump has called Biden out for the blatant hypocrisy. No one will care, though. Perceptions of both Trump and Biden in the minds of most voters are already locked into place. Trump could murder someone on Fifth Avenue and none of his voters would care. Similarly, Biden can reverse course on Trump’s border policies, and none of the Democrat voters will bat an eye.

The forty-fifth president is correct in these castigations of the forty-sixth president. If Biden were truly serious about stopping illegal immigration, he’d have enhanced what was already built by Trump.

Instead, Biden is simply trying to close the barn door after the horses have already fled. What’s more, Biden isn’t even serious about curbing illegal immigration. It’s all for a show, designed to help his reelection campaign.

The truly sad part in this is just how many voters will fall for the ruse.
