Donald Trump is facing three criminal investigations that could bog down his presidential run.

The former president’s attorneys are trying to defend him from potential indictments.

He has the brouhaha over classified documents, the accusation of wrongdoing for the January 6 insurrection, and possible criminal charges for allegedly attempting to overthrow the 2020 election results in Georgia. That’s enough for a normal politician to have a heart attack.

What happens from here on in?

Donald Trump Has Teflon Coating

Donald Trump, of course, is no normal politician, and maintains his innocence while reminding voters that he is the victim of politically-motivated witch hunts from Democrat investigators and prosecutors. He plans to run for president and keep his legal woes compartmentalized – a trait that Trump has excelled in over the years.

What Is the Legal Problem Now?

But now something new has cropped up that may add to his legal jeopardy. This one is complex and requires you to read between the tea leaves to spot the alleged unlawful activities. It all started during special prosecutor John Durham’s investigation into what happened during the Trump-Russia collusion accusations. Durham had been appointed by then Attorney General William Barr to sniff out improprieties in the investigation into Russian collusion that Trump had been accused of and later cleared.

What Did Donald Trump Do (Or Not Do) In Italy?

The New York Times conducted a review of the Durham investigation released January 26 and found a new potential problem for Trump. The Times wrote:

“On one of Mr. Barr and Mr. Durham’s trips to Europe, according to people familiar with the matter, Italian officials — while denying any role in setting off the Russia investigation — unexpectedly offered a potentially explosive tip linking Mr. Trump to certain suspected financial crimes. Mr. Barr and Mr. Durham decided that the tip was too serious and credible to ignore.”

Trump’s DOJ Covered This Up?

MSNBC claims Barr and Durham covered this up and that they should have appointed a Department of Justice to investigate into what Donald Trump was doing financially in Italy.

What Donald Trump Owns In Europe

The Trump Organization has three golf courses in Europe – two in Scotland and one in Ireland. All three reportedly lost scads of money, according to Forbes in 2021. I looked for evidence that Trump had business dealings or real estate holdings in Italy, but I had no luck. So, it is not clear what the Italians are talking about in the quote above.

There Was a Media Investigation Into a Real Estate Deal in Russia

Leftwing news site and Trump-basher BuzzFeed did an investigation in 2018 on the Trump Organization’s dealings in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia. This had pertained to efforts at creating a Trump Tower in Moscow. The Moscow Project from the leftist Center for American Progress admitted that Trump was not charged with money laundering or violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act after its attempt to tie Trump with illegalities overseas.

The Trump Organization’s International Holdings

There is a Trump “Ocean Club” property in Panama, and a Trump Tower in Turkey, one in Canada, and another in the Philippines. None of these locations are close to Italy.

Rumor Mill

This appears to be another example of the progressive media using hearsay, rumor, and innuendo to yoke Trump to an alleged crime. Until these journalists have more evidence and sources that are willing to go on record and make more solid accusations, the “Italian officials” should be discounted.

‘We Still Don’t Know’

MSNBC admits that that they have little to show for what they insinuate. “Complicating matters is the fact that we still, as of this morning, don’t know what financial crimes the former president might have committed.”

So why report on it? This is what Trump Derangement Syndrome is all about. There are many more investigations that have ample evidence and witnesses for crimes Trump may have committed but it is not fair to go after the former president based on some anonymous screed by rumor-mongers and gossips in Italy. This shows that the liberal media has already determined Trump is guilty instead of presumed innocent and that it is time to find additional ways to crush him with more unfounded accusations.

Take a deep breath, journalists, and stick to the facts.
