Writing on Telegram, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced on Monday, July 10, that Russian attacks in Donetsk Oblast settlements resulted in the deaths of two civilians. Attacks on detached suburban houses also injured three local residents.

According to the statement, Russian soldiers opened fire on residential buildings in Hostre, Pokrovsk, at 2:40 pm local time.

“Two dead and three wounded due to artillery shelling by the occupiers of Avdiivka and Gostre township – an investigation has been launched,” the statement revealed.

Officials also confirmed that three men, including a father and son, were injured by landmines in the region.

“According to the investigation, on July 10, 2023, around 2:40 p.m., Russian troops attacked the private sector of Gostre village of Pokrovsky district. A local resident was killed by shells. Also, three men aged 40 to 65, including a father and son, were injured by landmines. All victims were provided with qualified medical assistance,” the statement reads.

The statement added that, in a shelling of the city of Avdiivka on the same day, a 54-year-old man died in his own home.

“According to preliminary data, the occupiers shelled populated areas with artillery. Private homes and commercial buildings were damaged by the explosions,” the statement explained.

A photograph of the home damaged in the strikes was also shared on Telegram. The image showed the property’s brick walls covered in bullet holes, windows broken, and large chunks of the property’s roofing on the ground.

The statement comes as fighting across Donetsk Oblast remains as intense as ever, despite the withdrawal of Wagner troops from the conflict.
