Donald Trump Should Worry His Family Could ‘Rat Him Out’

Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen has suggested that the ex-President is feeling “overwhelmed” by his extensive legal troubles and that members of his family could be covertly cooperating with investigators.

Formal charges against Trump in the ongoing federal election fraud case are expected as early as this week.

Cohen told MSNBC’s “The Beat” on Wednesday that the former President is panicking amidst ongoing investigations and lawsuits.

He also discussed the position of Rudy Giuliani. The ex-NYC Mayor who has served as Trump’s person lawyer, recently admitted to making “false” statements about election workers in Georgia as part of Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

This admission came in the context of a defamation lawsuit filed against Giuliani by the Georgia election workers.

Cohen and others believe that Giuliani could be cooperating with the federal investigation into Trump’s role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Cohen pointed out that other individuals close to Trump, such as Ivanka, Jared, and Mark Meadows, might also be cooperating with authorities.

He has previously accused Ivanka and Jared of working with the FBI behind the former President’s back.

Cohen further emphasized that Trump is likely feeling the weight of multiple indictments, both federal and state, and is deeply concerned about the potential consequences.

“I can assure you that he’s panicking. He’s panicking inside,” he suggested.

“They’ll never allow the public to see it, because he likes to give the appearance of strength and, you know, be the victim, which is what he’s going to continue to play.”

“I assure you he’s thinking about just how bad this is going to be,” he went on.

Despite projecting strength and victimhood in public, Cohen believes Trump is internally panicking. Cohen warned that prosecutors are relentless in their pursuit of convictions and highlighted the evidence, including text messages and Trump’s own words, that might be used against him.

“Any one of these is overwhelming to any human being. So imagine now, with the full weight, the full power of prosecutors, and trust me when I tell you this… Prosecutors don’t play fair. Their sole goal is to convict, and Donald laid it out perfectly with everybody’s text messages with his own words. He’s laid it out perfectly for a prosecutorial conviction,” he told the news outlet.

In recent years there has been little love lost between Cohen and his former client. In 2019 he successfully sued the Trump Organization after claiming that he had agreements, both written and oral, stating that his legal bills would be covered in connection to various investigations. The Trump Organization stopped funding these bills when Cohen split from Trump and started cooperating against them.

The civil trial was set to begin on Monday, but was averted in light of a confidential settlement reached between the parties last Friday.

In April, Trump sued Cohen for at least half-billion dollars over alleged breaches of contract and “unjust enrichment.” It is unclear whether last week’s settlement includes this separate case.
