Just when it looked like the fix was in and Hunter Biden, who was in the process of finalizing a sweetheart plea deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ) that his father, the president, leads, about charges that the First Son was in illegal possession of a firearm and had evaded paying his taxes, the presiding judge of the case scuppered the deal.
The media firestorm has been incredible to see.
At a time when mainstream media coverage of Hunter Biden’s various scandals was negligible, the pressure cooker has reached such extremes that the proverbial lid has blown right off, and everyone—including otherwise skeptical groups, like MSNBC and CNN—has been forced to spend time covering the story.
Democrats Screaming Like Stuck Pigs
Meanwhile, various elements of the Left-leaning social media environment have spent the last several hours screaming like demonically possessed people who’ve had holy water sprayed on them.
If, as so many Democrats and the mainstream media have insisted, Hunter Biden’s alleged misdeeds are not tied to the president or do not rise to the level of scrutiny they’ve been given by the Right-wing media, then why the widespread freakout?
Not to worry, though, the deal hasn’t been entirely taken off the table.
It’s just that the presiding judge clearly has problems with the nature of the deal.
As a judge who’s seen years of these cases, he likely knows that the DOJ would never offer such a plea deal to any American—not even a prominent Republican politician.
Given that, the deal likely violates the judge’s sense of propriety and legal ethics.
The presiding judge has asked that additional briefs be written and submitted to his office for review before deciding on whether to accept the plea deal. Do you want to bet that the judge is going to be subjected to the mother-of-all pressure campaigns from the Democrats?
I bet you he will be subject to such a silent campaign.
In the meanwhile, Hunter Biden has changed his plea from “guilty” to “not guilty” now that the deal is likely off-the-table.
It’s Not About Hunter Biden
Because this is not about Hunter Biden. It never has been. Everyone involved understands that this is really about Hunter Biden’s financial ties to his father, the forty-sixth president.
And should those ties be fully revealed—which they are in danger of being revealed unless this otherwise tiny case can be made to go away quickly—then the House Republicans will have the evidence they need to initiate an impeachment process against the president.
Those of us on the Right who have been hoping to rein in the excesses of our Administrative State have been let down repeatedly over the years.
Whether it be the various failures of the Trump Administration to drain the swamp or the pathetic showing of the John Durham special counsel investigation into the perfidy of the Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign, the Right has been strung along and humiliated repeatedly.
The Hunter Biden investigation is different, though. Because so much of it is just below the surface and easily accessible. Hunter Biden was the worst possible choice for the so-called Biden Syndicate to pick to be their avatar when seeking “investments” from foreign governments and multinational corporations.
His various foibles are far too salacious for the media to ignore them.
But choose Hunter to be the front man for their family’s various illicit dealings abroad the Biden Syndicate did!
Now, they’re about to be hoisted by their own petard.
Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire
As they used to say about the obviously fabricated Trump-Russia scandal, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
And with Hunter, there’s much more than smoke (insert drug usage joke here, if you please).
The Republicans must continue following the smoke to find the fire. When they do find that fire—which the GOP is getting very close to doing—they will find President Biden at the epicenter of it.
That’s why the Democrats are panicking. They know this will directly impact the 2024 Presidential Election.
If Biden cannot run, then who will succeed him? Vice-President Kamala Harris is absolutely awful and couldn’t win a national election (unless it’s rigged).
California Governor Gavin Newsom is clearly the future of the Democratic Party, but convincing enough voters that the chaos from losing Biden and Harris as the nominees, when they are the incumbents, will likely turn off most voters to electing a Democrat.
A Judge Sirica Moment
The Bidens and Democrats did this to themselves. As Stephen F. Hayward of the Claremont Institute tweeted recently: the judge’s decision to refuse the plea deal is the “Judge Sirica Moment” in the ongoing Hunter Biden case.
Sirica was the presiding judge of the case investigating the so-called “Watergate Plumbers” during the Watergate Scandal.
Because Sirica refused the plea deal of the Plumbers, which prompted a deeper probe that ultimately uncovered the extent of the corruption surrounding the Watergate burglary.
The SS Biden is Sinking
By refusing to accept the Hunter Biden plea deal—at least for now—the judge is forcing a greater focus on the alleged crimes of Hunter Biden.
Given how extensive and apparent they are, it is unlikely that even the well-funded and insulated by the friendly press and sympathetic Administrative State, Joe Biden will stay protected for very long.
Even the unsinkable Titanic eventually sank. So, too, will the Biden Syndicate.
