Donald Trump and Joe Biden Just Got Hit With a Devastating New Poll

Currently, about 62 percent of Americans said they had an unfavorable opinion of Trump, and 52 percent said the same of Biden.

Key Point: Only 24 percent of Americans want to see Biden run for a second term, while 30 percent said the same about Trump.

Biden and Trump Won’t Like This Poll At All

The 1985 Richard Pryor comedy “Brewster’s Millions” saw the protagonist launching a New York City mayoral campaign that urges voters to cast their ballot for “None of the Above.”

A similar theme was explored in the 1979 novel “The Probability Broach” by L. Neil Smith. In that work of alternate history, the 2008 U.S. presidential election even saw “None of the Above” elected for life – essentially abolishing the presidency.

Though it couldn’t happen here – an ominous statement to ever make – a number of nations around the world do have None of the Above (NOTA) as an actual option on the ballots. That includes France, where it voting NOTA is considered an act of political participation and sending the message that none of the options suited the voter.

Perhaps some Americans would like to see such an option.

Joe Biden is Old, Donald Trump is Dishonest – Tell Us Something We Did Not Know

According to respondents to a new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, President Joe Biden is “old” and “confused.”

At the same time, former President Donald Trump is “corrupt” and “dishonest.”

The poll also found that only 24 percent of Americans want to see Biden run for a second term, while 30 percent said the same about Trump.

The majorities are reluctant to support either candidate if they receive their respective party’s nomination.

Currently, about 62 percent of Americans said they had an unfavorable opinion of Trump, and 52 percent said the same of Biden.

Age was a factor in Biden’s unpopularity, with fully 77 percent saying he is too old to be effective for four more years; while Trump’s legal headaches remain a factor in his poor showing in the recent poll.

Those numbers are in line with an ABC News/Ipsos poll that also found that half of Americans believe Trump should suspend his campaign to the indictments filed against him.

Another ‘Poll’ Said Trump Should Drop Out

Though many American voters may want another option, earlier this month one prominent U.S. Senate Republican went so far as to suggest that Trump should bow out of the race – arguing the former president cannot win, and will instead just help Biden remain in the White House.

Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, one of seven Senate Republicans who voted to convict Trump at the former president’s second impeachment trial in 2021, said that the federal documents case against the former president was “almost a slam dunk.”

Cassidy explained his opinion to CNN’s “State of the Union” host Kasie Hunt, adding, “Obviously, that’s up to him. I mean, you’re just asking my opinion but he will lose to Joe Biden if you look at the current polls.”

The GOP senator did say he would cast his vote for the eventual Republican nominee for president over Biden or any Democrat but doesn’t believe Trump can win the general election.

“I don’t think Americans would vote for someone who’s been convicted, so I’m just very sorry about how all of this is playing out,” said Cassidy.

Based on the recent polling, he’s not alone.
