‘He Is Mentally Unfit’: Donald Trump Just ‘Got Hit’ With a Devastating New Poll

Former president Donald Trump slammed a “phony and probably rigged” Wall Street Journal poll in which 49% of respondents said he was mentally unfit for the presidency.

Donald Trump Doesn’t Like A Poll Conducted By One Of His Fundraisers: Former president Donald Trump slammed a “phony and probably rigged” Wall Street Journal poll in which 49% of respondents said he was mentally unfit for the presidency.

The poll featured heavily across mainstream media outlets last week, which confirmed Trump as the Republican frontrunner – not that confirmation was needed.

Moreover, in a hypothetical presidential election, Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden were neck and neck with 46% of the vote share each.

As part of the poll, respondents were also asked whether they thought each candidate was fit for the job. Approximately three-quarters of respondents said that the 80-year-old President Biden “was too old” for a second term, matching concerns raised by Republicans and anti-Biden Democrats.

Donald Trump Is Angry

However, Trump took offense to 49% of respondents saying he was mentally unfit for the presidency, launching his criticism at the WSJ and former ally Fox News. This is despite the fact that the poll was conducted in part by his former chief pollster Tony Fabrizio, whom the Journal itself acknowledged “works for a super PAC supporting Trump’s candidacy.”

Fabrizio’s company has donated more than $567,000 to Make America Great Again Inc. since the start of 2023, according to FEC filings.

Trump’s Tirade

In a series of posts on his social media platform Truth Social, former president Trump blasted the publication.

“In a phony and probably rigged Wall Street Journal poll, coming out of nowhere to softened [sic] the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality. Where did that come from?” Trump asked on Sunday.

“Now that the Globalists at Fox & the WSJ have failed to push their 3rd tier candidate to success, they do this,” he added.

War on Fox News

The 77-year-old’s views on the Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox have been public for some time.

Last month, he snubbed a debate broadcast by the corporation in favor of a sit-down interview with ex-Fox personality Tucker Carlson.

Trump criticized Fox once again for a $780,000,000 settlement reached with Dominion Voting Systems for publishing the former president’s unfounded claims regarding election fraud, accusing them of a “failed push” for fellow candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“The Wall Street Journal and Fox News keep pushing the narrative, through Trey Gowdy and others, that ‘BOTH’ Crooked Joe Biden and 45th President Donald J. Trump are unpopular within their own Party,” he said.

“This happens to be true for Crooked Joe, where they won’t even let RFK Jr. have his votes fairly counted (more RIGGING, and STEALING Elections!), but VERY untrue for ‘TRUMP,’ where I have a 90% Approval Rating, and am crushing the ‘second tier’ candidates by 50, 60, and even 70 Points. THAT’S POPULAR!” Trump exclaimed.

Biden leads Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by around 50 points in the polls, while Trump’s lead over nearest rival Gov. DeSantis, while monumental and seemingly insurmountable, hovers around the 40-point mark.

Fox News’ sister network, Fox Business, will be hosting the second Republican debate on September 27, although the former president is unexpected to attend.
