Is Hillary Clinton Running In 2024? Former Clinton Adviser Says Yes – Dick Morris, the author, commentator, and former political strategist for President Bill Clinton, claimed in an op-ed for Newsmax this week that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is planning to launch a 2024 presidential campaign to stop former President Donald Trump from winning.

It’s not the first time that Morris has made the claim, but his recent op-ed comes as polls continue to show President Joe Biden’s flagging support within his own party.

According to a recent poll from Morning Consult, there are more voters who disapprove of the president’s performance than those who approved of it in 44 states in the second quarter of this year. It means that a vast majority of Americans don’t support the president right now, and would not be likely to support him running again in 2024.

Another poll from CNBC, released on the same day, found that Biden’s economic approval rating dropped in July by 5 points compared to the same survey in April, and is lower than both President Donald Trump and President Barack Obama’s approval ratings at the same time in their presidencies.

Morris, who advised former President Bill Clinton on and off since 1978, claimed in his Newsmax column that events are already unfolding as he predicted they would in his book, “The Return: Trump’s Big 2024 Comeback.”

According to Morris, Democrats are bracing themselves for a “GOP tsunami” this year, which he claims will give Republicans control of both chambers of Congress. He also lays out a schedule of what he expects will happen over the next two and a half years, starting with President Joe Biden resisting but ultimately being forced to “cave to left-wing and media pressure and not run again.”

Morris adds that Vice President Kamala Harris will not be the Democrats’ candidate because “Trump will easily defeat her,’ and that as the party scrambles to find the right person to take on Trump, they will consider the likes of California Governor Gavin Newsom, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

“With Harris out, a Black candidate may emerge. The shortlist here includes Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., or, if she wins the Georgia governorship, Stacy Abrams,” he continues, adding that the party’s “far left” wing will look to Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, as well as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Ultimately, though, Morris claims that Clinton will succeed.

“As leftist candidates emerge as front-runners in the Democratic primary, pressure will grow on Hillary Clinton to enter the race,” Morris explains.

“Much like Biden’s surprise entrance in 2020, Democrats will see her as their savior, an experienced politician able to bridge the left and more moderate wings of the party.”

In June, CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza made a similar suggestion and argued that the “whispers” about a 2024 Hillary Clinton campaign have already begun. And, when pressed on the topic during an interview on CBS, Clinton herself did say that she missed politics and couldn’t imagine running again.

When CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King noted that Clinton’s response was “not a no,” Clinton didn’t elaborate any further.

If Hillary Clinton does intend to run, expect to see an announcement sometime after the November midterms.
