Chris Christie Won’t Stop Calling Donald Trump a Loser

Chris Christie Called Donald Trump a Three-Time Loser – GOP presidential hopeful, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made it clear in an interview on Fox News this week that he has no love for Donald Trump.

Chris Christie Called Donald Trump a Three-Time Loser – GOP presidential hopeful, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made it clear in an interview on Fox News this week that he has no love for Donald Trump.

Christie described the former president as a “petulant child,” “the cheapest S.O.B.” and notably a “three-time loser” – noting the 2018, 2020, and 2022 elections in which Trump as well as many of the candidates he backed lost at the polls.

Christie also made it clear in his interview on “Fox News Tonight” on Tuesday that his comments were aimed at Donald Trump, not Trump’s supporters.

“They’re directly about him. And the fact is, I’m telling the truth. And the things that I’ve said, not even Donald Trump denies that they’re true,” Christie said. “I mean, let’s just look at this as an example. What member of Donald Trump’s senior staff or senior cabinet members would work for him again? Not one of his secretaries of state, not one of his secretaries of defense, neither of his attorneys general, not any of his chiefs of staff, not any of his White House counsel. What does that tell you about what it’s like to work for this man?”

Christie also vowed to be the anti – Donald Trump.

“I am going to be the alternative to Donald Trump,” Christie also said at a recent stop in New Hampshire. “And when I am, I’m going to beat him.”

Christie may have no love for Trump, but he noted, “First of all, I don’t hate Trump. I just don’t respect him.” The former New Jersey governor, who also aided Trump in the 2016 and 2020 campaigns, further added, “He’s never had a campaign against him like the one you’re going to have now.”

What Changed His Mind?

Christie told Piers Morgan on Fox News that he actually supported Trump until the former president’s actions on election night in 2020.

“Let me be very clear. People get this wrong. Election night, 2020, when he stood up in the East Room of the White House behind the seal of the president and said the election was stolen when not even all the votes had been counted. He had no evidence and to this day has no evidence that the election was stolen. That’s when I abandoned him,” Christie explained. “And by the way, he abandoned me and others like me who supported him. I was the first one on board in 2016. I chaired his opioid commission. I chaired his transition. I prepped him for the debates in ’16 and in ’20. I did everything I could to support Donald Trump and make him the best president he could be. But he disappointed me, and he let me down.”

Christie further claimed in New Hampshire that he is running for president because Trump let the American people down.

“He’s unwilling to take responsibility for any of the mistakes that were made, and of the faults that he has. That’s not leadership, everybody. That is a failure of leadership.”

Former governor Christie is still considered a long shot at best.

Trump holds a steady lead in national polls of Republican voters. And while Christie has vowed he won’t endorse President Joe Biden, as some Republicans had done, and won’t run a third-party campaign, he could still do enough to ensure Trump can’t win. Along with Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running against Biden, Christie has been labeled a “kamikaze candidate.”

He doesn’t see it that way, however.

“I’ve always been a Republican,” Christie said in New Hampshire. “And that’s the nomination I want.”

The question is whether he has any chance of getting it.
